Should I install "US National Landclass Project for FSX" from FSGenesis?(pics)

I've installed all the USA FSGenesis meshes, how the heck do you know if they installed properly and are working? I do not see them listed in the Scenery Library.jbr0SERsfGlopk.jpgAlso, I put on the Hawaii airport mesh fix but first one I try PHUP in Hawaii I get this.jfVE9OxlmtLOE.jpgAnd what is the US National Landclass Project for FSX file that FSGenenis has available, should this be installed too? It's code DL-X-LCUS on their site.

manual or auto-install? I use the auto-install and have never had a problem. I don't have the landclass because I have UTX and scenerytech.

Hi there,With the auto-install, the .bgl [mesh] files simply get installed in the respective scenery folder and work behind the scenes. Mesh is not like other scenery "add-ons" and, with Justin's auto-install feature, does not appear as an 'entry' in the Scenery Library.''Now, that being said, it is also possible to manually install the mesh [file] as a separate and discreet entry in the Scenery Library, which can then be activated and deactivated therein as with any of the other Scenery Library entries. However, this requires that you install Justin's (FSGenesis owner, creator and general genius) mesh bgl files in their own, and similar, Scenery Library directory structure. That is, to manually install the mesh in the manual fashion, you need to place the bgl files in a sub-sub folder entitled "Scenery", which would then reside in a folder of your naming (say, FSGenesis FSX USA base terrain, for example), which would then, in turn, be placed in your ...FSX/Scenery folder. Installing it manually in this way provides the added flexibility of being able to selectively deactivate the mesh should you wish. And, yes, FSGenesis mesh does indeed make an enormous difference in the quality and appearance of the terrain. In fact, installing as indicated above, and then selectively activating & deactivating and observing the changes, would make this manifestly apparent. I cannont recommend FSGenesis mesh highly enough. In my view, it truly brings to life FSX; I have practically *all* of FSGenesis's mesh products, they really are terrific. With regard to the FSGenesis'sn landclass, I have that [manually] installed as well. It is all a matter of preference, but I think that it greatly enhances the appropriateness of the scenery textures called up by FSX for any given area or scenario. Andddddd, to that end, I also enjoy using Flight 1's terrific Ground Environment X scenery texture replacement packages. They really do enhance the realism of the land & terrain.Hope this helps, and blue skies- RustyOne other thing to remember is that, for any given region, FSX will always use the finest resolution mesh present in your system *regardless* of where it may or may not be situated/present in the Scenery Library (unless it is manually installed as above, and deactivated).Cheers- Rusty

Since it's release, a long time ago, there has been a problem with UTX and the area around Upolu - PHUP with tag-along water showing in the immediate area. This same problem has shown itself around other areas where UTX is not in effect. No one has been able to deduce the cause of the effect in FSX, thus no solution has been found. Just one of the quirks of the FSX rendering engine.

Add FS Genesis mesh to position it in the Scenery Library just above Propeller Objects. Just above FS Genesis mesh, position all the UTX landclass scenery (keep them in order as they were installed). Put all other scenery above these two sceneries.Best regards,Jim

Reduce the texture resolution to 1m and the issue stops.. its a problem with the higher LOD in the render engine that is seen in the Caribbean as well as south Pacific with some airstrips close to the ocean too, not just UTXunfortunately that means one loses the 7cm texture resolution clarity but its only for spot locations like this.
