I honestly don't have a clue where to post this...!

But I need some help. I purchased Feelthere's EMB 175 and 195 V2 last night as the price was 50% off, but I've had some problems getting liveries installed. The ones I found here on AVSIM are for FS9, but I've downloaded many FS9 repaints for other aircraft and they work absolutely fine in FSX. Yet these repaints, despite showing up, have a problem; the fuselage is tinted a very dark blue, or is completely black... here's a screenshot of a 175 in Delta Connection colours.

Please help, I really don't want to have wasted my money on something that I can't get liveries for, and I honestly think it's ridiculous that you have to pay for the McPhat liveries. Just imo of course.

I might add that I checked the .bmp fuselage files to see if the tint was there too; they weren't, they looked absolutely fine. Very odd.

It's never safe to assume FS9 items will work in FSX.

Aside from that, I bought the McPhat liveries so sorry I can't help. I don't think there are many user repaints for this plane.

David.

Yes, that's probably a fair comment, although I've never had any problems with other aircraft.

There isn't many, no. None for FSX actually, hence me getting the FS9 ones.

Probably some discrepancy with channels or maps from being FS9 files in FSX, i.e. not DDS files with some clashing Alpha Channel or whatever. If you open them up in Photoshop or (the free) Paint.net, I should think you will be able to sort them out by resaving them as DDS files with tweaked or removed channels or light maps. Note that most versions of Photoshop need a plug in to read and save DDS files, which you can download (free) from NVidia.

I have DXTBmp, which connects to Paint.Net, will that do the job? Thanks :)

Yes it will.

Good. So, I just need to save them as a different file-type? Or have I got this all wrong.

I have an older version of PhotoShop, and save the modded file as a 32-bit tga file. DXTBmp can open this just fine. I select 'Flip image and alpha', unselect the mips check box, then save the file as dds, selecting DXT5 (which will save the alpha as well). Done!

I'll give this a go, thanks!

No luck. Did the exact process that you described with all the fuselage and wing textures and it's still the same, darkened texture. Not good

Try going into a texture folder that originally came with your plane and copy the texture cfg to you new repaints texture folder and see if that helps. I have had the exact same problem that you have and that has done the trick for me sometimes.

This is the weird thing... I have no texture.cfg. First time I've seen a plane without one.

Can anyone help further on this? I really don't want to have just bought a plane that I can't use... haha!
