April 3, 201214 yr Recently my FPS and smoothness of the sim just haven't been up there. I am wondering why. I can't maintain a steady smooth FPS on approach to YMML even though that is a very high end scenery, I still think its capable. Settings are large radius of the field, 100 complexity, 10m mesh resolution, 7cm texture res, water is high 1x, autogen complexity is extreme and the density is normal/dense. On approach in the J41 its about 15 to sometimes just over 20 on a fairly clear day. Nothing running in the background just FSX. Any ideas guys, I want to get flying again! April 3, 201214 yr Author And the other annoying niggle I am currently having is with FSX just closing without any error or warning when I try and enter the menus. Just cruising along in my 737 and try and enter the sound menu and it goes. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. April 3, 201214 yr Last time this thing happened to me, it was the computer BIOS that was reset to the default CPU clock... :shok: Re-applied the overclocking settings and all was smooth again!!
April 3, 201214 yr Do you have ORBX or default? But I just tried a circuit... and got 25-35 in PMDG 747 VC. JS4100 is more taxiing.
April 3, 201214 yr Author Nah, its the ORBX, the real stuff. I think its the limiters I am using though and yes, I am at 4.7GHz. I took off in the NGX on a foggy morning with autogen at normal and extremely complex. Ai at 65% and 7cm texture reso and I managed about 30 around the airfield and then when it was time to take off on 16 which faces down to the terminals it was down to 16-20. So I tried to continue my flight but as I said earlier, it crashed when I wanted to go to the sound menu. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. April 3, 201214 yr isn't the 'crashing when going in to menus's' something to do with the G3.Dll error? My system which is due for delivery on the 27th October 2011 Intel i5 2500k 4.5ghz Asus GeForce GTX560ti 1024mb GDDR5 Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Corsair Vengeance Blue 8gb 1600mhz Seagate Baracuda 500GB 6GB/s 16mb Cache Cooler Master Elite case Cooler Master hyper 212 CPU fan G7 780w PSU - I know i need to upgrade this! 32" BEKO HD LCD screen FSX Acceleration + UTX, GEX, REX, GenX VFR UK, all UK2000 airports, Mogwaisoft Shade, many Aerosoft Major Airports And... PMDG's 744X Queen of the skies. Total outlay about £1500. Next i intend on getting a good Yoke and peddles.
April 3, 201214 yr isn't the 'crashing when going in to menus's' something to do with the G3.Dll error? No, that would be uiautomationcore.dll.
April 3, 201214 yr Author There is absolutely no error that shows when I close it, its like I just hit alt + f4, but of course I am not. Maybe there would be a some info in the error dumping thing. Where is that again? Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
April 4, 201214 yr Author Not lately, should I get a new one? Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
April 5, 201214 yr Author Haven't really been on lately, but it may be the first thing i try the UIAutomationcore.dll Still no answer for the performance? Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
April 5, 201214 yr Sorry, I totally missed your post. No, if the old file is there, then its working. My version is 16386, might as well try that one if you already don't have it. Performance has nothing to do with UIA... Accessing menus does. And right mouse clicking opening a menu. The problem with the sound could be quite a different nature. But you know how it goes with performance, typical suggestions: delete fsx.cfg, rename dll and exe xmls, see what runs as process in windows, you gotta go step by step looking for the problem. The FSX as software is way too complicated for anyone just to pinpoint and tell you thats it! Especially when you say "as of lately".
April 6, 201214 yr Author yeah, i know. It is just a pain but once its running its sweet. There is nothing wrong with the sound, its just when i access any menu like the sound that it will suddenly close down. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. April 6, 201214 yr FSX doesn't often make sense. Last night I did some testing. Turn all to minimum and was surprised to see 180-200fps in windowed mode no less. Did one tweak, down to 50fps. Reverted back to minimum again, now max I got was 150fps. Odd. Shut down FSX, restarted, still only 150fps. No clue how I was at 200fps the very first time but it was. Threw salt over my shoulder and went to bed.
