The ways to download new drivers are 3:

If the driver is WHQL certified (certified by microsoft) it can be downloaded from the windows update

You can download the drivers directly from NVIDIA web site (support-download)

The best way is to download from the board manufacturer (asus, XFX and so on...) web site.

Generally the nvidia drivers works with all boards, but, in few circumstances, a manufacturer driver is more stable.

You need to know your graphic adapter brand and model, go to its web site, access to the support or download section.
