April 7, 201214 yr Believe this was mentioned last month but wonder if there is a answer! I can see that the hat switch is reversed on movement compared to FSX. Wonder if anyone has been able to fix this my playing with XML information. In FSX move the hat switch to the left and the camera moves to the left and around the aircraft and vice versa. In FLIGHT it is the opposite and hard to get used to. Using a Logitech Wingman Extreme 3D Pro. Any thoughts? Thanks
April 7, 201214 yr Moderator There currently is no solution, however a design change request was made to the developers to add a config option to "Reverse Spot View Hat Pan Movement." Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
April 7, 201214 yr You could just get used to it....unless you use Flight and FSX interchangably. JP1018
April 7, 201214 yr Moderator You could just get used to it....unless you use Flight and FSX interchangably. Considering that many of us have >16 years of experience using the hat switch while in Spot View a certain way, we shouldn't have to "get used to it" working the opposite way in Flight. That's the point. It would be a trivial matter to add an option to reverse the action. What is ironic is that the current behavior was decided on from results obtained from an "ergodynamic design study" conducted with a group of folks who had no prior experience from which to draw... 1) from the cockpit, hat left, turn head left - Check! 2) from the spot view, hat left, rotate right (i.e., anti-clockwise)? - How does that make sense??? Prior to Flight, hat left causes the camera to "rotate left" (i.e., clockwise) around the aircraft. That is what is consistent with #1 above! Fr. April 7, 201214 yr It makes sense because left hat -> look to the left, no matter which view you are in.
April 7, 201214 yr Author Thanks for replying to my post on this subject. Control should be consistent from flight sim to flight sim for familiar use.
