April 8, 201214 yr Does anybody know why my PSS Dash 8 does not follow the Glide Slope down. I have the correct IAS, correct ILS frequency the GS gets picked up but then the aircraft just continues at the same height and does not follow the GS down. Any ideas please. Thanks John
April 9, 201214 yr I don't have this product so I can only guess - Once you have intercepted the localizer you need to tell the aircraft to follow the glide slope, done by engaging APP mode on the MCP. Let me know how it goes.
April 9, 201214 yr Author Thanks Liam. I am doing that already.Do I have to make sure that NAV and HDG buttons are deselected do you think? I'll try that. John
April 9, 201214 yr I would disengage the HDG mode, not too sure about NAV, maybe someone else can advise on that, but try disengaging both and using APP only when the pink diamonds have come to the middle indicating the GS has been intercepted
April 9, 201214 yr I have the PSS Dash 8, obviously....that is my screen name.....when I execute an ILS approach I go from being in Autopilot Heading Mode to selecting APP mode for the approach. My aircraft captures the localizer and the then intercepts the glideslope automatically and tracks it inbound. I have not had any difficulty regarding the aircraft descending to the runway in this mode. I am not sure what is causing your difficulty. Try what I have suggested and let me know what happens. I love the Dash8-300 model from Just Flight. It is one of my favorite planes to fly. Especially with the new Turbine Studios sound package installed. Good Luck. Eric Hutchinson
