Switching application

Featured Replies

I took the plunge and purchased the Voice Control version last night. I do have one question though as i read the manuals and try to get through all the good stuff. On a few occasions the microsoft speech engine has minimized FSX ans opened up other applications based on incorrect interpretation of things I've said. Is there a setting i can use to prevent the Windows 7 from switching to another application unless I manually switch? thnx I'm excited to get going with this program eventhough I am a little intimidated by what I think is going to be pretty steep learning curve.

Hi Richard,

You missed this part in the manual  If you have Windows Speech recognition running, your FS2Crew commands will also trigger Windows commands, and obviously you don't want that to happen.

Don't worry, FS2Crew uses its own internal speech recognition, so the Windows one doesn't need to be on.

Step 2:

Microsoft's 'Windows Speech Recognition' system must be OFFprior to loading Flight Simulator.

To ensure Windows Speech Recognition does not load on Windows Startup, make sure 'Run Speech Recognition at Startup' is unchecked on the Speech Properties -> Speech Recognition page, which is located in the Windows Control Panel.

Hi Byork,

I'll go back and double check - I thought I had it set not to load on start up. I think what may have happened was I was doing the voice training and I went straight into FSX, I will double check tonite. Thnx for the response.
