April 9, 201214 yr Hello I have not done a RC4 flight for ages but did one tonight with 737 NGX, fs2crew and AS2012 (WideFS), RC4 (WideFS) I dont recall any traffic information on the ground or in the air for the entire flight, i did receive chatter and full ATC and I have the appropriate boxes ticked it RC4, RC4 ATC vectored me on the localizer but there was 4 aircraft on final and although TCAS was going nuts nothing from the controllers, not sure what is going on, cheers Wayne Wayne such Asus Hero Z690, Gigabyte Aorus Master 5080, I914900K, Kraken 360 AIO CPU Cooled, 96 GIGS Corsair DDR5, 32 Inch 4K by 3
April 9, 201214 yr Commercial Member you would have to send me a log, and tell me where you think you should of heard chatter, and between whom. i can look at the log, and tell you why, nothing was said. keep in mind, if you are are on tower frequemcy, you will ot hear ground chatter, or departure or arrival chatter. enroute, you will not hear chatter between ai in different stratums than you, or departure or approach chatter jd JD Read my blog
April 9, 201214 yr Author Hi JD Was getting plenty of chatter but no seperation at the arrival airport and was vectored straight into a line of jets on final, I will do some testing to ensure all is working, cheers Wayne Wayne such Asus Hero Z690, Gigabyte Aorus Master 5080, I914900K, Kraken 360 AIO CPU Cooled, 96 GIGS Corsair DDR5, 32 Inch 4K by 3
April 9, 201214 yr In RC options insure Interact with AI and AI Chatter is checked. Pre-Recorded chatter should be off. If using UT2 for traffic set the ai spawning distance for maximum. To check if your client is getting traffic install on the client Traffic Look from here: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/ It will run in a separate window on your client and will show ai in your area both ground and airborne in a table like a spreadsheet. RC will not issue speed separation notices on final. It will try to speed up aircraft in front or in back slow them down. I also recommend the freeware AI Traffic Smooth version 1.2 which works in FS9 and FSX. It is in the FSX utilities library here on avsim. Set the ATC voice options off on it so you don't get confused with RC comms. If you turn on respond to user aircraft it will separate ai from you in the final area you set up. It also will separate ai into holding patterns before entering final which allows ai taking off to sequence in the arrivals thinning out the take-off queue.
April 10, 201214 yr Author thanks Ronzie, interestingly when I was on Final the aircraft behind me sped up and passed me so not sure what actually happened on that flight as RC4 did not seem to be doing anything to the traffic around yssy on finals, also curious why you suggest to disable pre recorded chatter is that just personal choice, thanks very much for your assistance you guys are great Wayne Wayne such Asus Hero Z690, Gigabyte Aorus Master 5080, I914900K, Kraken 360 AIO CPU Cooled, 96 GIGS Corsair DDR5, 32 Inch 4K by 3
April 11, 201214 yr prerecorded chatter is random for ambiance and if enabled increases RC's audio processing load. See if Traffic Look on your Wide FS Cient is seeing the UT2 ai. You don't have to run RC to test this. Just park at yssy with UT2 running and traffic look should report parked (sleeping) aircraft and then aircraft taxiing for take-off and then an arrival cluster should show up in a couple of minutes. If traffic look can see this then you know RC should be recognizing it. If it is there then but RC is ignoring it run RC and start a flight enabling the RC debug option to create a log. That log will contain the ai traffic tables reported by FSUIPC/WideFS. Remember that in RC you'll only hear traffic for the phase of flight. Let RC auto-tune your com1 for you. Before you start your test flight it might be advisable to note the frequencies listed in the RC controller tab. In version 4 this is a fixed database and not derived from your scenery so tuning to charts, etc., will not be effective. RC will auto-tune to that database. In version 4 for approach and tower some of the ai chatter was filtered out to keep RC's performance up.
