Fall City 1WA6 Orbx Missing Runway

Featured Replies

The runway and grass are missing from 1WA6 Fall City from Orbx. Looks ok in FSX. The runway is present but slightly below ground level. Anybody had similar issues?

I now have Orbx working in FSX again. Messing with files in P3D was a pain. So did clean Orbx install in FSX with only the Fall City 1WA6 enabled. The installed the SBSL thing to hopefully link to P3D. In P3D all I saw was the default airport. So it seemed that you may have to copy the updated (2 patches) 1WA6 file to P3D. Did that (enabled) and the airport partially appeared. There is only a grass runway and some buildings but not the complete airport environment.

I have had Orbx for awhile but since it worked without messing around I never had to pay attention to file placements, "this before that" updates, etc. I had never looked at the file layout or the purposes of the files, it just worked. Now I am at a loss to get the airport to appear properly. Having spent the last 2 days messing around with Orbx in P3D.

All updates have been done and in the proper order, and works in FSX ok.

The P3D Orbx folder has a Scripts folder and a User Documents folder as well as the 1WA6 files.

ORBX have not made the migrator tool available yet which will enable all their airports in P3D - at the moment it's only the regions which work, the airports don't.

I don't know about their payware airports but their freeware ones work just fine in Prepar3D.. Use the FS Registry Repair tool to install the airports to Prepar3D.. I have KHQM and 2S1 installed fine along side the SBSL.

The Registry Repair Tool(FSX) is the thing that got me into trouble. I would change the registered location of FSX to the Prepare3D folder but sometimes forget to restart to put the changes into the memory copy of the Registry. Also, some of the addons appear to put things into the registry themselves. This is a guess but if true does anyone know what is done? I know that just copying the folder for the 1WA6 airport to Prepare3D, and selecting it in the Prepare3D scenery manager gives me only a partial presentation of the airport.

I have no idea if you have to change the registry and then formally install the airport and its updates or, just copy it to a folder in Prepare3D or, just leave it in FSX and point the Prepare3D scenery manager to it. I have seen NO instructions beyond bits and pieces on this subject.``````
