Please Help! Frustrating White Ramp Textures FS9!

Featured Replies

Hello:

This is really frustrating! I have some freeware airports in FS9 that have a white ramp texture. Screenshots from the airport authors do not show a white texture, but a typical gray to brown texture. Airport authors have been unable to completely resolve the issue to my satisfaction. I have included a screenshot from KPIT and one from KMHT. Do I have some sort of display issue or corrupted texture files? I know little about scenery design so I would appreciate some help!

Thanks!

Al Kaupa

I would say that you are missing some texture files.

What are the addon names and where did you get them?

I found KMHT by Mach 1 which looks a lot like your screenshot.

That apron is using the default concrete texture, filename- taxi_concrete.bmp located in ...\FS9\Texture

When I remove that file I get the white apron as in your screenshot.

It worked!! :im Not Worthy: For some reason I had failed to copy some files from my old PC to my new W-7 PC. When I copied the tax_concrete file over to the FS9 exture folder everything worked. What tool did you use to discover that the taxi_concrete.bmp was the missing file? This tool may help me in the future if I discover a similar situation.

Thanks again for your help!

First I loaded up the airport and noted the texture displayed fine for me.

Then I looked at the AF2 file in ADE9X to verify the apron was concrete.

Next I removed that file and restarted the sim to verify.

It's a lot easier to figure that stuff out when it works than when it doesn't.
