Featured Replies

hey guysi have a 747-200/300 panel now but its a very 'high' panel and cant see anything when im landing (check screenshot) is there maybe another one around (FS09) wich has a better view?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/72361.jpglet me know!cheers!

Hold down Shift and press Enter while in the cockpit view. This "moves up your seat" to give you a better field of view.Regards-Matt SmithPPL Student, KPWM (Portland Intl JetportOrganizer, Flightsim vs. Avsim RTW Race

If your panel.cfg has a similar entry to this then try increasing the number from what it is at the moment. {Views}VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=3If there is no entry like this try adding it in. Be sure to change the brackets to square ones as the square ones will not display on the forum messages. As far as I know it could go anywhere in the file as I have seen it near the beginning on one panel.cfg and near the end on another. Increasing the number should raise the horizon in forward view. This has a different effect to the SHIFT + ENTER command and does not distort your perspective.

I like that panel for FS2004, by Ken Mitchell. Adjust the forward view like Charlie recommends. I just use Shift + Enter or Shift + Backspace to adjust my seat height during approach. Otherwise, that viewpoint in your screenshot is accurate, from the pilot's perspective, if you consult various panel shots at airliners.nethttp://www.2decker.com/media/solent1-2.JPGAlex ChristoffN562ZBaltimore, MD

Here's what I insert into almost all my panel cfg's[VIEWS]VIEW_FORWARD_MAIN=MAIN_PANELVIEW_FORWARD_DIR=2.5,0.0,0.0VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.75The first det of digits in the forward dir line can vary - just try different numbers until you are happy. The 0.75 in the zoom line gives a better feelinf of speed. You can also vary this, but I've found if you go much less than 0.75 it distorts the outside view.
