  1. Hey guys, I have my (F) ATPL and flying the real thing is of course a complete different world. Sitting in the aircraft, the sounds the smell and the feel compared to the calm environment of your house is so different. Moreover, the view is also very different as you have a complete different perspective. However, the PMDG has helped me a lot. I used it for IFR training and getting the general feel of the cockpit where everything is located. This was excellent for 'chair flying'. If you know flightsim/pmdg very well it will give you a great advantage and head start when going to the actual sim because you will know generally where everything is located and programming the FMS should also be a piece of cake ;). The landings i find also very different just because, as i said above, your perspective is so different then compared to your computer screen. To be honest during my training (for SEP/ME) i only used FSX to practice certain IFR things (holdings/interceptions ILS/VORDME/NDB approach) and maybe quickly practice some procedures, didn't really have the time to use the computer a lot!So basically, FSX is an excellent tool to get your self familiarized with the aircraft and learn the system at ease in the comfort of your home! cheers, Nick
  2. IAS indeed has an inaccuracy (compressibility) at high level but that's not the reason to switch to Mach. If you keep climbing at a constant IAS your Mach no. will keep increasing because as you climb the local speed of sound (decreasing temp) will decrease hence the need to switch from IAS to MACH so that you wont reach Mmo. (During air acceleration the wing will reach the speed of sound well before the local speed of sound. This is Mach Critical and aerodynamic characteristics (controllability/stability) start to degrade. The limit point of the aerodynamic characteristic still being tolerable is called Mmo= Mach max operating speed)cheersNick

  4. FS was a huge addiction for me but once i started flying the real sim that kind of went away! But i still use it sometimes and im actually really lookingforward what the new NGX will bring! The pmdg is the only thing im actually using in FS!cheers!Nick

  7. Hey guys,Have been out of the game for a while. Computer also didnt help as it crashed and lost everything!Now im in the process of re-installing FS09 again (on laptop). As im a real life pilot now who is in the waitinglist for a major airline, i want to practice certain things using i.e. pmdg 737. Not really interested in VFR as i can do that in real life now :)My question is what important updates do i need for FS09 to run smooth? I believe there were someofficial updates? Anything else?Hope someone can help!cheers

  9. Hey guys,Quick question.I Have FS09 installed on my PC. Is it possible to also install FSX and keep my FS09 the way it is with out messing everything up? I want to install FSX because it has a very nice multiplayer function and since im studying at a Flight Academy now its a nice way to practise my RT with my class mates!Let me know.cheersNick

  13. Hey guys,ive decided to go with the A320 Airbus Series of Wilco.However, is there a good tutorial for this aircraft? I saw one video for a PSS A320 but i could only find the first video (author said there were going to be 3).So if anyone has a good Tutorial for the A320 please let me know!ThanksNick

  17. Hey guys,I have been looking for a while, and i have seen some nice products, but what do you think is the best A330 panel (payware/freeware) as im thinking of getting one. Thanks for the feedback..I have a friend who has a little computer shop and im going to trade my 9800 GT and im getting a: 7950GX2 Dual GPU PCIe now that would be good :) I can get it rather cheap since im trading it for my 9800GT.Indeed this blurry thing does happen most at the SwissPro. In us its much better.One more question. What is better? Flying the sim in window form or in full screen?cheers! Thanks again guysNick

I have no idea why..but its still like the first screen shot i posted...I really really am sad now that it cant be fixed....and im not gonna re-install FS cause i already have so many addons/downloads etc.btw, its the Switzerland Pro in the screen shot..maybe the textures are too big or something?? Is there anything i can change?? :(It certainly isn't my system as that is fine...let me know pleaseNick
