LOL Sorry!

Hm, if I remember well that was the theme in which I couldn't even take off, not even with full rudder... I will give it another try this evening. I suppose it also depends on the heading of the runway. And oh yeah, I trust you: I don't think I will be able to pull that off...!

I hear you :) Sometimes, it is almost impossible to take off when facing a strong tail wind with tendency towards east or west :) However, are you applying the aileron input opposite to your rudder input? It helps you control the airplane while rolling down the runway. As for the isolated storms, please go try it asap and let me know how you like it :)

Cheers

Hm, funny thing about the opposite aileron...! I noticed that I do use opposite aileron when I need a lot of rudder during landings, but on the ground it seems I automatically pull the stick to the same side as I give rudder... Odd! I just gave opposite aileron a try during take off (more on that later) and it did seem to work indeed!

I just finished a passengerjob with isolated thunderstorms... Well, er... it took me three retries before I could take off with the passengers still okay, haha! I took off from a very small bumpy strip so that wasn't too clever, I guess. The flight itself went okay although I needed to give constant input in order not to drift off. When I noticed my passengers stayed happy all the time (after flying some 15 nm from the total of 40), I skipped to the next waypoint. I enabled the HUD to see where the wind was coming from. I alligned myself as good as I could with the runway, which unfortunately was another very small dirtstrip. I had to give almost full left rudder constantly. All the way during approach things went fine but when it was almost time for touchdown I suddenly started moving left and right and bumped hard on the ground... The green check turned into an orange explanation mark, but not for long. But I clearly didn't succeed in keeping green all the way...

Oddly enough I did get 1000 points for keeping my passengers happy...! Strange because I had far better flights and landings but without points for happy passengers...
