Thanks for touching base with me, Ray! It's been a long time since we met each other on the boards!

I haven't needed to post much Chuck as FS has been so stable. RC Forum is my main home.

In several Google searches I couldn't find any reference to his passing, but with the hack back in '07 or '08 (whenever it was) who knows if it survived? And I definitely could be mistaken. Regardless of Helge's current status he was never one to "flood the boards" with his support for FS Navigator (which was more than adequate, mind you) or his general opinions about anything. I know he had a terrible car accident in 2004 and that he closed down any new sales of FS Navigator in 2007, but he was always one who valued his privacy greatly. After the accident, he obviously couldn't support the product in the way he probably wanted to, so it's highly unlikely he'd answer even a posted thread like this one.

Support can be very time consuming. Ask Pete Dowson! FSNav is very stable and I never had many problems with it. And of course some people won't ask for help in a polite way so that was perhaps irritating for Helge.

FS Navigator is a great product, and still highly relevant today almost 15(?) years since it's initial development. I used if for many years, and the only reason I stopped was because I just wanted the challenge of trying something new . . . it seems I got bored with FSNAV LONG before it did of me!

I use vRoute now and only use FSNav occasionally. In those days not many people had multiple PCs so having a moving map on a second display was brilliant. These days most have home networks which can support all sorts of wonderful software. Evolution is wonderful.

Thanks for your input, Ray and you take care of yourself, my friend...! Let's stay in touch . . .

Thanks Chuck. I'm sure our paths will cross again! Big%20Grin.gif

..for all we lucky FS 2004 and FS Navigator owners....and FSX users who have never experienced the delights od FS Nav...

There is always Plan-G!

Thanks Fozzer. I did try it last year and because I could only run it on a laptop its graphics weren't sufficiently powerful to show the program off to its best. But it is a fantastic program.

Neither have I Ray. But now I'm just trying to be a little more sociable by giving back, just like you guys did when I first came on.
