PMDG 737 and EZDok

Featured Replies

Hey folks I was wondering if anyone had some "realistic" PMDG 737-700 vibration/ground effects settings for EZDok. Right now I am using the default ones that come with it. They seem OK but I was wondering if anyone had more realistic effect settings. My camera settings are fine, just need help tuning the ground effects.

Thanks

Gunn.

I dont need the cameras, I just need the vibration profiles.

Just load the default 737 and export the profiles from that. They aren't perfect (particularly the ground vibration is too strong) but that is easily fixed by turning the main level down a bit.

Alright I imported the vibration files into EZDok. Anyone have a good number for the ground vibration? I could just start adjusting the Global Gain but I am not real sure what feels realistic.

Just go with whatever looks and feels "right" to you. This is the type of thing where everyone's opinion is going to be different. In general though I recommend a very low gain on RND and DHM settings for a complex aircraft like the NGX because you'll have trouble clicking buttons and switches if your view is shaking around a lot. I personally use a value of around .15 to .20 for the gain because it still gives me some feeling of really being in the cockpit while still being able to use the mouse in the cockpit. :)

Ok so I set my DHM Gain to 0.20 and my RND to 7.0. Do these numbers seem reasonable?

It should be fine. Remember too that there's a separate RND profile for ground and air, and that default 737 GROUND profile is pretty rough so you might want to turn that down much more. Sounds like you've got it sorted pretty nicely though!

I am still getting mixed results with these vibration profiles :s molleh is saying to adjust it lower, others are saying its perfect for the PMDG 737, though the profile seems a bit harsh on landings and take offs. I just dont know where to put these settings.

Furthermore if you wanted the " Bumping Center line Lights " on takeoff and landing, use Aerosofts AES and activate the selected airport your flying at.

FSDREAMTEAM's GSX hasn't released this feature yet though. But I'm sure they will in due course.

What is "Bumping Center line Lights" ?

I just want the landing shake effect to be something similar to this:

Skip to 3:10 for the cockpit landing view.

Its the bumping sound you get in the cockpit when the plane is moving of the Runways lights on the centerline.

I know the effect your trying to achieve, I have EZdok myself and would love to know how to get that effect.

But I was just saying you get an effect like this is you have Airport Enhancement Services.

Listen to the sound when this guy lands. Skip to 5 Minutes.

Yeah the sound is nice, though I'd like to achieve the realistic shakiness first. It looks as though AES only works on some airports, and most of which are not in the USA. I thought EZDok was what gave the landing effect in the video I linked. When I land its like I hit the ground at mach 1 speeds, shakes all over the place and not very realistic, or smooth.
