Over Speed Problem

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I read the over speed thread http://forum.avsim.n...erspeed-needle/..

However, I've noticed that I get a red box FSX overspeed warning at around 180 on the gauge, regardless of the barber pole position.

Anyone else getting this?? It's annoying as hell, as I have all my settings set to "real".. and my first reaction to a red box over speed is to yank up on the yoke, and cut power.. because the "screen of death" follows soon after... and the dreaded reloading of the flight!

Is there a quick fix for this?? At least the red box should stay off untill I get at/past the barber pole right?

Thanks.

While workingon the tutorial yesterday, I had her cruising at 194 KIAS. No overspeed box. Barber pole was around 220 KIAS at the time.

Heres a pic... Seems this happens when the weather updates (Rex) and the air pressure changes.

Are you on SP1?

If so, something's wrong. At 25,000 the barber pole should be well below 200 kts. It is showing in the static position it was in in the original release.

If you haven't installed SP1, do so. It fixes this problem. If you have, I would recommend a clean re-install as something is definitely wrong.

Yea, good Eye on the barber poll... didnt even notice that. I'm sp2... I just did a re-install (of the plane), and will give it a go in a couple hours.

Thanks for the feedback!
