RC4 menus getting slower and slower

Featured Replies

Every time I run Rc4 it seems like the menus get slower. Should I do a re-install ? Or get another key and connect from another pc thru FSUIPC? If the latter, how do I get another key?

First make sure in RC settings display.txt is disabled along with prerecorded chatter off. Interact with ai should be on.

FSUIPC should be updated from:

If you are using FSX and other apps that use SimConnect like AS2012 or ASE for FSX, that can cause windows process traffic loading in SimConnect and FSUIPC4 (which uses SimConnect as well).

I assume you are getting the "blue window", not green rectangle, for RC menus.

It also might help to insure RC is excluded from security application monitoring.

I don't think an RC reinstall would help. I don't think the RC folders would become fragmented as the only folder changed is the data folder on a scenery rebuild. The rest are only read.

You just might have general performance problems caused by FSX with complex add-ons for aircraft, weather apps, and traffic add-ons.

Thanks, but I took the easy way out and moved RC to a networked pc and connected through WideFS. Incredible increase in performance and usability!

I had this issue recently and it is now fixed. The only two things I had done that may have fixed it was deletin my fsx.cfg and lettin it rebuild itself and I also uninstalled MyTraffic2010 off of my computer.

That is the best way. Just be sure your path for the scenery rebuild is correct.

has updated versions of WifeFS. See the release notes.

Turning display txt off seems to have fixed the problem, but I'm not sure what that does in a networked setup?

On a networked PC you should run ShowText which is available on Pete Dowson's website here. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/
