April 25, 201214 yr First off, new here, just joined after finding these forums on Microsoft Flight. I am not new to Microsoft Flight Simulators, but new to MS Flight. I have the basic free game and was thinking of making my first purchase of the Maule. First off any complaints about this plane? My only concern is the price seems a bit steep but oh well. Does it have a VC? Lastly I keep hearing of flying passengers, how is this done, is it one of the challenges with this plane? Thanks everyone in advance...:)
April 25, 201214 yr This is a great plane. It has a vc and is useful in the game for a lot of jobs and missions. You will enjoy it. Harold i7-920@3360, Asus P6T Deluxe, 6gb Corsair 1600 ram, MSI GTX460, PC Power+Cooling 610wt psu, etc.
April 25, 201214 yr Hi Neve, welcome to the AVSIM fórums No complains, the Maule is a great plane, IMO very good model, a joy to fly. Yes it has a VC, only instrument non functional is the Autopilot. You can click on any airport and see the job board. There are cargo, medical, clandestine and passenger mission. I Think you need the Hawaii DLC for missions, but there might be some available if you only have the big island. I can’t confirm that because I got the full Hawaii package since game release. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
April 25, 201214 yr The Maule is a great plane with a very good cockpit. The only major shortcoming is that the autopilot is "down for maintenance." The vast majority of the Jobs available at various airports require a plane with cargo or passenger capabilities. The Maule is currently the only plane in Flight that can do those jobs.
April 25, 201214 yr Author Thanks everyone for the quick responses, looks like I will go and buy this. Couple more questions, do you have to have the Hawaii DLC to do jobs with this plane? Also if I downloaded Flight from Steam do I purchase the plane through them or can I just get it at the Market Place, or does it matter? Thanks everyone..
April 25, 201214 yr You can do Jobs on the Big Island without having the rest of the islands. However, if I were you, I'd think about getting the Steam combo for the rest of the islands, the Maule and the P-51. It's a big price-saving. Even if you never fly the P-51 much because of not having a cockpit, you still come out cheaper than buying the Maule and islands separately.
April 25, 201214 yr Unless you really want to do the jobs, I would reccomend the Hawaii Adventure Pack first. It comes with the RV-6A which is my favorite plane. I think you do need the rest of Hawaii for the missions, but not the jobs. When you buy the content, Steam will give you a code that you redeem in Flight. Aaron
April 25, 201214 yr That's good advice. The RV-6 is the best plane in the game in my mind... IFR-capable cockpit, fast, maneuverable, way more range than you need in Hawaii, great visibility out the canopy, and tricycle landing gear. Having the rest of the islands really opens up what you can do with the Maule.
April 25, 201214 yr If it had been available when I bought my stuff, I'd have a P-51 today. I'd still complain about it, though.
April 25, 201214 yr Just 2 things to complain about: -Autopilot not working -Service Ceiling of 20.000ft not reachable I think it`s still a bug since Beta? Can anyone confirm? What would made it perfect( incl. points above): -Modern Avionics
April 25, 201214 yr I'm actually OK with the dated avionics. The "steam" gauges and old radio stack are what I learned to fly with. :pardon:
