Run Time error R6025 Visual C++

Featured Replies

Hello,

From time to time FSX crashes (once a week) with this error.

Any recommendations or solutions?

Thanks in advance

It's an obscure object-orientated coding fault. Very basically, it arises from an attempt to call a function (pure virtual) that doesn't exist at the time.

Un-installing and re-installing may eliminate itif your installation's corrupt, but it's unlikely. It's even more unlikely that cleaning the registry will eliminate it, despite claims on some sites. Read those sites carefully and you'll realise they are generic and merely plug in your error message into a standard page.

The only thing I could think of is to reinstall 2005 VC++ runtime and updates, but don't hold much hope for this. Whay I see on my system is two entries, ver 8.0.56336 and 8.0.61001 and then an update for ATC 8.0.50727.4053

Hello,

I reinstall the C++ when I have this error.

I have a question : I run Win7 X64, do I reinstall the X64 C++ version or the X86 version as FSX is a X86 application.

Up to now I reinstalled the X64.

Thanks in advance.

Not required. The 64 bit versions of MSV will be installed if a developer used the C++ program to develop the product. I have a couple versions of the 64 bit MSV's on my system but they were installed by another software program (maybe Microsoft Office?). FSX requires the 2005, 2008, and 2010 versions of the MSV C++ Redistributables. Windows Update will update each one and that is done regularly. MSV's are not backward compatible so you need all versions. The appropriate version is normally installed on your system when the FSX, Acceleration, or a FSX addon is installed. However, some people have moved their FSX installations to another harddrive or another computer and then run the Flight1 Registry repair tool. You also need Version 1 through Version 4 of Microsoft.Net installed. Again, these versions are not backward compatible (so an addon that was added back in 2007 will not work properly with the latest Version 4). Again, these are normally installed by the developer when you install FSX or an addon if it is not already installed. Windows update constantly updates these versions.

Best regards,

Jim

Hello Jom, Thanks for the information.

Do I understand correctly I cannot find a solution for this error?

In general there is no solution, other than possibly trackuing down aqnd removing the offending application.

Unfortunately there is no magic bullet. Each incident has to be investigated. It could be a bad piece of hardware or software; system overclocking, system overheating; or just a bad install of a FSX addon (there are many more. This is just a few causes). The only 'magic bullet' I know of for a FSX crash is the G3D.dll error which was fixed with the latest FSUIPC.dll installed (for most people).

Best regards,

Jim
