April 26, 201214 yr I have just upgraded my system to an Asus P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 Mb, 2700K CPU, Mushkin 997057 Memory, and 580GTX Video Card. I also upgraded from WinXP to Win7. First of all I got my System setup and back to normal with just about all of my favorite programs and utilities installed and working properly. All Windows7 Updates have been installed Finally, I made the basic installation of FS9 followed by FSX. I have FSX back to normal and flying beautifully. I have now begun to try to setup FS9 as I have had it for years. The first thing I did was to try to install an addon scenery of my home airport, KLWB where I traditionally have chosen as my default startup location. I moved the package into the "Addon Scenery" folder, started FS9 up, went to the "Scenery Library" and clicked on "Add Area". I selected "KLWB" and clicked "OK". Unfortunately, nothing happens. The scenery is not added. I have tried a number of other sceneries as well with the same result. I thought maybe this had something to do with being the administrator in Win7 or the security thereof, so I also have tried right clicking the fs9.exe file and running as administrator and had the same problem. I do have UAC disabled (Slider down to the bottom). After many years of use for FS9 and the addition of many items from addon scenery, this is new territory for me. Has anyone else ever had this problem and know of a solution? Thanks: RTH
April 26, 201214 yr Hi Try this tip: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/265677-how-to-add-addon-scenery-in-windows-7/ Welcome to windows7 RJ
April 27, 201214 yr Hi RTH, if, as I suspect you have a lot of scenery to install for FS9. Then may I suggest, seeing as it is basically a new install, visit sourceforge and download the latest version of SceneryConfigEditor. Once you have that set-up its a doddle to add scenery and fault find afterwards. I have not used the MSFS scenery library for several years now, for adding or moving scenery about. For example it takes me 5-10 mts to deactivate/reactivate 700 scenery files, try that with the stock system. Regards JohnT
