April 27, 201214 yr I seem to have problems in getting the FO to respond to start checklists. PF works fine and the FO sets up everyhting as expected but then at t+11 I call preflight checklist and nothing happens. FO happily closes doors and obeys other commands but I can't get him to start any checklist. The voice recognition shows the words correctly recognised. What am I doing wrong. Peter Rowan
April 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi Peter, What about the other checklists? It sounds like an audio setup issue if you can't get the other checklists to play. Let me know, but check your audio settings first. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
April 28, 201214 yr Author It seems to have been the audio config. It only works consistently if the headset is the default sound device. I now have completed a flight with everything going as it should and enjoyed it. It has taken me a while. I found the learning curve very steep. The list of complete flows just published on the forum helped greatly. I think the problem is 1) No list of what the FO actually does especially in pre-flight - so you don't know what you should do especially on the overhead panel - In fact he does almost all of it. Even now though does he set up all lights for each stage of the flight. 2) No idea of when he will be ready so you ask something and nothing happens. Once you have been through it once it is easy because you know when he will intervene and what he will say but from the outside it is very confusing when you are learning - especially through the long PF. The forum is very good and so is the support so I am not complaining. Peter Rowan
April 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member Peter, There is a full list that breaks all crew actions down. Pls look at the "flows" section in the manual. All is described there. Cheers, B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
April 28, 201214 yr Author Bryan, You are right It is all there in the FO flows. It would be nice to have some way to know how far has gone in his flow e.g what was the FOs last action. Any chance of that being in the next release. It could be some sort of log of FO's actions. Peter Rowan
April 29, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi Peter, Unlikely. Most of the flows are very short. The longest flow -the main preflight flow- takes several minutes. But if you want to know where the FO is in his flow just look at the overhead and panels and watch him flip the switches. You can see where he is in the flow. Cheers, B.
