removing yoke in fsx version of dc3

Featured Replies

I've found a couple of posts but no definitive answer about removing the yoke in the fsx version of the dc3. Does the fs9 fix work, or is there one specifically for fsx? Thanks.

Hi,

Afraid there's no Yoke removement specifically for FSX but the Yoke rem mdl files that come with the early R4D, Passenger and Cargo models will work in FSX as well. Open the 'model.x_m' folder inside the main folder of any of these planes. Edit the Model.cfg by adding -Y behind 'medium' and save it.

That's it really. If you now select any of the medium versions of these models the Yoke will have been removed from the VC.

As we didn't get much feedback for this particular option we did not include it in the later C-47 versions. You can still try the 'quick & dirty' way of removing the yokes by downloading the specific patch tough.

It contains the bmp's that hold the yoke images and makes them invisible. It works fine in FS9 but it seems that in FSX there's still some 'residue' left...

If you want to try it you can find the patch here :

Good luck !

Adding this fix in FSX removes the yoke OK but seems to stop the landing lights showing up on the runway? Is this right or have I done something odd?
