SDK Error on starting voice edition

Featured Replies

Hi, I am getting the SDK error on trying to start the voice edition, I have followed all the advice I can find (re installed SP1C, Trike at Start up, Starting in 2d) but nothing seems to correct it.

This has only started since installing version 1.3 today (It worked on initial version and 1.1, cannot remember trying 1.2)

I have seen a comment from the developer saying its a simconnect issue and there is nothing he can do.

Is there any more advice to try?

Hi Gary,

Simconnect can be funky... but it should work for you.

It varies from user to user, but try this:

1. Ensure the NGX loads by default into the 2D cockpit, not the VC or Spot view. (You can switch to the VC after the 2D loads). Note: not everyone needs to do this, but it can help.

2. Delete the "livery.ini" file in the PMDG NGX folder. Some people have said that cures it. PMDG recommends deleting that file anyway as it's no longer used by the current livery manager.

3. Try "Resetting" your flight after the NGX loads (the 'Reset' option is in game FSX menu)

4. Try re-installing Sp1C and re-enabling FS2Crew.

Cheers,

Bryan,

Just so you know and for info for any one else with similar problems, none of the above worked (and there was no livery.ini in my NGX folder) but after about 15 attempts at the above, with no sucess, I re installed my old liveries and then FS2 Crew started working :) maybe a coincedence but thought I'd let you know.

Regards,

Gary

Seems Gary was looking for the livery ini file in the simobjects/airplane/ngx folder, not the fsx/pmdg/ngx/aircraft folder Bryan. By re-installing his liveries, he has replaced the ini files that were giving him the SDK error.

Hope you don't mind me butting in there Bryan, my wife thinks I am a know all :)

No problem Bryan. I think what is happening, users may be backing up there ini files to save the maintenance hours, and then when they re-install the NGX, the ini files are then copied over. The best practice is before installing FS2Crew, Voice or button, is to insure all liveriy ini files are new, not backups.

And if Liveries are pre-SP2, the ini files are deleted.
