April 30, 201214 yr I'm a new member, a licensed pilot in the Dallas Fort Worth area, and a FSX and X-Plane user. I created an account (and validated it) to post something sim-related in the Classifieds forum, but there is a button that indicates "You cannot start a new topic." Is there something more I need to do before I'm able to post in those forums? The reason that we do that is to prevent "drive by" single shot spam.
April 30, 201214 yr Author Excellent, thanks Tom. The revised forum's "Terms and Conditions" when creating an account doesn't mention this, nor does the account confirmation email. I'm sure it used to be there. No worries, I will participate in the forums before posting anything for sale. Appreciate the help! Better yet, we'll make it in the terms you have to agree to before you post there. I have also lowered the message count to 15.
May 16, 201214 yr Hi Tom: I have the same problem. Have been a member for long before 2009 (when the server crashed if I remember correctly) and had a large number of posts then. Since then I really don't have much to post but would like to in the Bargains and Classified sections. Is there anyway this could be accomodated without me posting a lot of useless messages? May 19, 201214 yr Hi Peter, As Tom mentioned, the reason behind the post count restriction (prior to posting a classified) is to protect the integrity of the system. What I can do is suggest you pick ten posts in the screen shot forum and if you like the picture, say so. A lot of users build their post count over night this way. It's not considered spamming either because the author's of these pictures really do enjoy feedback.
