  1. These are all great tips! Thanks, guys! :good:
  2. Excellent, thanks! I don't have any of their aircraft installed (yet), so that's good to know. No wonder they are so well respected!
  3. Be sure to check the classifieds section here on the forum if you're interested in some original B777-200 materials from American Airlines. Will be great for the serious simmer. I wonder how extensive PMDG's online manuals and such will be. I'm hoping they will be extensive, with checklists and backgrounders.
  4. In another couple decades, the technology will hopefully be good enough to make electric aircraft viable for distance transportation. There are several general aviation electric aircraft under development and/or available, but this is the first transport-sized one I've heard about. Thanks for the video.
  5. It's a tough topic, as this thread demonstrates. While we know piracy and child pornography are wrong, making laws that are too broad or overreaching leads to.... Implementing new laws will NOT stop either piracy or child pornography. Neither will imprisoning or killing all offenders. Doesn't mean we shouldn't prosecute them.
  6. Thanks Luke. Where are these conference Q&A videos?
  7. The 777 will definitely be on my purchase list. Do you know if they'll release it for X-Plane as well, or just FSX? I'm having trouble finding their announcement (I have looked at their site), but had heard rumors that PMDG was going to start broadening out to include XP10 in their product portfolio.
  8. OK, this might have to be the first add-on aircraft I buy... nice call! Thanks for posting it.
  9. I have it. Haven't used it much. They added some fixes that enabled you to adjust what the "zero pitch" tablet angle was, which helped tremendously. Before that, it was hard to use if sitting back in a chair--if you weren't sitting straight up and down or holding it perfectly perpendicular to the floor as your reference to zero pitch, you'd be climbing or descending.
  10. Luis, I just purchased and installed XP10 as well, after being a FSX user (and previous versions) for years. Still working through a few configuration settings I need to figure out... then, I need to find some good aftermarket aircraft for it. Anybody have suggestions? I've been getting some emails from x-plane.org that have links and announcements about newly released add-ons and aircraft; those look nice.
  11. So, I have X-Plane 10 installed (trying to move to it instead of using FSX, which is no longer supported)... I configured my CH Products Yoke and Pedals just fine, but when I go back into XP10 later, the settings are gone. I leave my controls plugged in, so it's not due to them being removed and added to different ports. Any suggestions? Thanks! P.S.--New here on the forums. My name is Troy, I'm a computer guy and fly for real, too (instrument airplane pilot), so feel free to ask any questions related to real-life procedures....
  12. Getting rudder pedals helps, too: http://goo.gl/re2dm
  13. Then you probably wouldn't want to fly from Miami to the Bahamas with me in a single engine plane, huh?! :-)
  14. Is there a way to update FSX's NAV / GPS / approach database to use current fix names and locations? I'm a real pilot, and find I need to keep some old charts / approach books around, as FSX doesn't keep pace with NAVDATA changes. Thanks!
  15. Are any of you running the new Ivy Bridge hardware (22nm tech) with the GTX 680? Would love a PIREP!
