May 1, 201214 yr Thinking of buying it. Just looking for some feedback on how good/bad the iPad version is of X-Plane. Is it lacking so many features from the PC version that it won't be much fun or challenge? Are there missions? Are the controls decent? Graphics really lack luster? Is there ATC or any procedural type content (true engine startup, permission to land, etc) in the game? Thanks in advance for any info on those that have played it.
May 1, 201214 yr I hope someone can chime in on the Ipad version, but the Iphone version I have, is pretty cool. Lots of fun when Im on the train to work! Rob
May 1, 201214 yr I have it, but I haven't played it much. The graphics are nice, but yes, it lacks many features of the PC version. I don't recall any missions or procedural content, but I haven't really been looking for it -- I just climbed in a jet and wandered around over the skies of Innsbruck, Austria. I do like the controls: you hold the iPad like a yoke, and tilt it as need be. I bought it just before I bought the PC version, and once I had the PC version, I lost interest in the iPad version, so I'm not the best person to ask. I don't necessarily regret the purchase, as I plan to return to it, but not sure I recommend it either.
May 2, 201214 yr Author I find it hard enough to keep my interest on PC, so iPad version needs to be more game than sim. I guess the most important for me to know are... Are there missions? Is there ATC or any procedural type content (true engine startup, permission to land, etc) in the game?
May 2, 201214 yr I have it on my I-pad and it is not very detailed. It offers the ability to get your Flightsim "fix" while away from home. There are no missions, ATC, or other things of that nature. There are about 8 - 10 areas in which you can fly and several different aircraft. Is it worth $9.99? I think so, but that's just my opinion. John Wingold
May 4, 201214 yr I have it. Haven't used it much. They added some fixes that enabled you to adjust what the "zero pitch" tablet angle was, which helped tremendously. Before that, it was hard to use if sitting back in a chair--if you weren't sitting straight up and down or holding it perfectly perpendicular to the floor as your reference to zero pitch, you'd be climbing or descending.
