May 2, 201214 yr Hi people. Have been practising the ILS landings using the 787 Dreamliner and Abacus A380. But sometimes i notice that when approaching the runway the plane is too far to the left usually and have to disengage autopilot from 200 m from ground to steer the plane right. Any ideas why this happens? Would it be because im selecting the glideslope approach hold at the wrong time? I always select it just before it hits the artificial horizon. Let me know what you guys think. Cheers.
May 2, 201214 yr No autoland you should be disengaging far before DH. Usually 1000 or 1500 ft AGL. ArDee
May 2, 201214 yr If you want to give the plane more time to settle in on the localizer, you can engage APR earlier - typically when the glideslope indicator comes on. Just have ALT mode set, and hit APR. More likely, your HSI is mistuned (hit D key to center) or the approach you are flying into has the localizer offset which happens in real life too.. Lastly, there are airports in FSX where the ILS is not depicted correctly... Bert
