New hardware suggestions & cautions

Featured Replies

At the moment, I am using a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T CPU on a Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H motherboard with 8GB memory and a ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB video card.

I have ordered a Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3 Ghz CPU + ASUS P8Z68-V-Pro/Gen3 motherboard and a GeForce GTX 560Ti video card. Suggestions or cautions as I start this process.

Note: I will be reformatting hard drives so as to have FSX + Win 7 64 bit on SSD & the rest on 500GB conventional hard drive.

Happy landings,

Great choices!

If I understood correctly, you want to have Windows + FSX on SSD, rest on HDD. I would recommend windows on HDD, FSX on SSD.
