ATC in P3D?

Featured Replies

how is the Built in ATC in P3D?

is it the same as in FSX or slightly better?

As far as I can tell, ATC is exactly the same as in FSX, except that the ATC dialog has changed in appearance and it is always a separate window.

The ATC opens dead center of your screen, and is not transparent like in FSX. Also, if you move it to say upper left so you can see instruments, then close it, the next time it's dead center and not being transparent, it hides your instruments. LM has stated it's going to be fixed in the next release. cthiggin

I was more referring to the ATC instructions/control them selves , not the Visuals.

e.g. does it supports SID/STAR,? do you get batted between controllers like in FSX? etc.

I hate to disappoint you, but the Air Traffic Controllers behave exactly the same way as in FSX; they even have the same voices. They vector you, but I don't think they use SIDs or STARs (again the same as in FSX). And yes, you still get batted around.

Hopefully, version 2 (or 3) will have some ATC enhancements.
