FSNavigator lock up question

Featured Replies

Hello All

Last night I tried to create a flightplan from KFRG to KPBI using the 'Calculate auto route' option in FSNav,I selected the 'Low altitude' airways option, but this resulted in a lock up ,with no plan being generated and eventually forcing me to shut down FS and start again. On my second attempt I again tried the same flight but tried the 'High alt 'airways option but with the same result lock up and restart. At this point I gave up and selected a new flight and created its plan with no further problems. .This has happened to me on a couple of occasions (cant remember the other flights details , something like KMIA-to somwhere in Latin America.

To be fair to FSNavigator I have used it for years ,and generated many many flightplans with no problems, but I wonder if anybody else has experienced anything like this. And is there anyway of shutting down a locked FSNAV without having to force a complete re-start of FS9 ?

PS I notice another thread about solid state drives and whether they improve FS performance, the consensus seems to be that they don't ,however! users of these drives do say there is a significant increase in loading FS9 .In the case of CTDs ,lockups or just starting up initially this in itself could be a very useful feature .Having to re-start FS9 after CTDs or other horrids and then reloading a flight ,its plan ,ASKy etc etc etc etc is tedious in the extreme.

Anyways

cheers

Andy

Hello Andy

The last free Navdata update before it became payware 0608 is available here at avsim

If you search on 0608 it will pull up not only the one for FSnav but also for all the addon fmc's as well

Here are the Library details:

Filename: fsnav_0608.zip

License: Freeware, limited distribution

Added: 30th September 2006 Downloads: 5914

Thanks for that MD

Please excuse my rather terse "I don't want to pay", in the cold light of day it looks rather mean. I ain't mean ,just broke-ish,

Andy
