New GMap from FSWidgets

Recommended Posts

Having an Android version would not do a lot for me as I can barely read what is displayed on my phone any more.

Well, I have a 10.5" Android Tablet, so size isn't really an issue for me. On the other hand, had I thought it out more carefully, I would have gotten an Eyefinity setup with three 24" LED monitors running side-by-side instead of a single 42" LED HDTV via HDMI...

That way I could have easily moved GMap display over to either the left or right side monitors.

Now my best bet would be to add 2 more 42" displays and use Eyefinity! :LMAO:

I think you need to check out the manual that comes with your GPS... LOL Even the default FSX GPS offers a LOT more then just a moving map! (Even more then actually could be used in Flight right now. )

Bah, I don't need any of them newfangled contraptions... I navigate by sextant, and I likes it!

Heh, yeah, but GMap does offer a bit more than just a moving map. It may not equal a full-featured GPS, but it's got some useful capabilities. It's certainly better than the current alternative.

Parking my 7" tablet between my stick and throttle as a GPS display would be quite nice.

Now my best bet would be to add 2 more 42" displays and use Eyefinity! :LMAO:

Can... can... can I come over to play?

Hi,

I run full screen and just Alt-Tab between GMap and Flight when I need it. With Flight "disconnected" you can move and enlarge the map as necessary. I have everything that's possible to turn off, off. During a job when I can't access the map this feature becomes almost mandatory. I guess if I did things the real world way this would not be necessary but I'm not quite that dedicated.

So far Flight and Google seem to be in close agreement. The FSX Flight Plan and Flight, not so much.

I only have to place the mouse cursor over the FSX airport indicator to see the ICAO.

How do I buy a version for MSF that will let me see the airports?

Currently, it just says Demo, and I want to get the real thing.

thanks.

This is for my HP laptop.
