May 19, 201214 yr Hello, I have recently downgraded from FSX To FS9, And I am receiving EXTREMELY Low FPS On addon aircraft. I understand FS9 Does not take advantage of multi cores. For Example, On the Ifly 737, And REX on minimum, I get 5-10FPS In The VC, Exterior 10 to 20, 2D, 10 to 15? My specs are I7-2630QM 2GHZ Boost 2.9GHZ [Enabled turbo boost with FS9] GT525M 1.6GB [Overclocked while FS9 Is on] 6GB Ram I also Use Game Booster 3.0 I have a friend who has a weaker system than me, And he gets 25FPS In the Ifly VC With aerosoft airports and REX Maxed. Any Ideas? I dont see a point on going to FS9, If I get higher FPS In FSX :/[With addons] On default, 20FPS Default VC, Which is still horrible comparing to others.
May 20, 201214 yr That is so strange! I sure hope that that is not normal because I want to downgrade from fsx to fs9 as well. I have been looking forward to playing a flight sim that I can play at least 25 fps in all situations, but if what you are experiencing is normal then my dreams may be shattered :(
May 20, 201214 yr there's something weird in your system probably, fs9 should run better, i get 70-200fps on my system with max settings.
May 20, 201214 yr I dont really know, I manage to run Homefront, MW3, maxed and battlefield 3 low-mid Uhhh, I think ive uninstalled and installed fs9 like 5 times now? And I have had to re visit the Flight1 nd rex site 8 times to re download products lol, Any ideas, to check if its something with my system? EDit* I just did something I found on youtube, I found a major fps boost on exterior, but VC No effect ( same for 2d panel exterior went up to 40fps , vc and 2d still between 5 and 15 helppp meh EDIT I have a Dell, So Dell Support Center has a built in scan to make sure all key hardware components are working properly, I just made a test and everything passed so far, Will edit when done Also, My Windows assessment rating, for processor went down from 7.5 To 4.3! And graphics from 5.3 to 4.8 [gaming graphics stilla 6.6] I dont think this matters but can this explain anything, I have processor on 100% Power, For Graphics, I have my Intel 3000 Disabled and GT525M Enabled for everything, blocked out optimus pretty much :/ Still dosent explain much, because when the ratings were up in the past, I still got similar performance, Im lost! Any Help? EDIT Stress Test: PASSED Full System Test: PASSED I am lostt
May 20, 201214 yr Have you done something with the fs9.cfg? There are tons of useful tips in the forum. Although, with your system, fs9 should run pretty smooth. Are you running other programs while flying? Where do you lock your frame rate? FPS issue is not a twilight zone, but it will be if you don't do searching and browsing. Good luck
May 20, 201214 yr Ermm, I multi task, frame rate unlimited, I have not touched FS9.CFG But Ill search for tweaks Any other advice? Still cant think multi tasking can do that, my friend has a weaker laptop, 25fps+ ifly 737 vc, and he multi tasks :S
May 20, 201214 yr I don't know if this would cause a problem but do you have fsx installed on you computer as well? I heard that this can cause problems. Another thing that I heard not to do was to make sure not to install fs9 in the "program files" folder. Maybe somebody can correct me if I am wrong though...
May 20, 201214 yr Another thing that I heard not to do was to make sure not to install fs9 in the "program files" folder. Maybe somebody can correct me if I am wrong though... That will only cause compatibility issues when attempting to run the programs or in many cases, CTD. try this one: http://www.sceneryso...manceTuning.pdf also good discussions here: http://forum.avsim.n...s2004-oct-2003/ Again, with your spec, it should run fs9 smoothly thou you don't modify fs9.cfg. You may start checking your hardware drivers. And do search more
May 20, 201214 yr Commercial Member The gpu is a major bottleneck. Other then that it sounds like your fs9.cfg needs to be configured and take a look at your background tasks and anti virus. Rob Prest
May 20, 201214 yr All my hardware is working perfectly, Anti virus Norton is enabled, and I have it blocked from interfering with FS9 FSX Is completely uninstalled I dont have to install it to C:/ Since I have UAC Disabled. I have a game booster on, which closes around 30 processes [not important] and Turbo boost + overclock on the GPU I have REG Mechanic [Not open] , and I have no registry issues,
May 20, 201214 yr Even though fsx is uninstalled it can still leave registry. You can use the flight 1 fsx/fs9 registry repair tool to clear it up and it might make some addons run better which can possibly gain fps. Also if you plan on reinstalling fs9 try testing out fs9 vanilla with no addons first and see if this is a problem in fps. gradually load all your addons until you see a significant fps lost so that you can find which addon is causing the problem.
May 21, 201214 yr Said FSX Is completely uninstalled, meaning registry too :/ Also, I did that, 20-30FPS default C172 VC, Extremely low FPS Ifly 737 - Around 4 To 8 On VC Use to get better performance in FSX :/
May 21, 201214 yr If you haven't done it already, try limiting your FPS to 30. Your system should be able to handle FS9 nicely.
May 22, 201214 yr Have you double checked the UAC setting is fully off? (Slider all the way down)... Tweaking your fs9.cfg may give you some quality improvements but the default settings should still be very adequate for your system so I don't think it's an fs9.cfg "fix" you need. Installing FS9 outside of Program Files works fine for me - in my case it's on a dedicated D: drive. But once again, I doubt that doing this or not doing this is going to solve your issues. There is no way your system should have any problem handling FS9 nor should you be having problems with the iFly 2D or VC -- so it's got to be some kind of setting problem. Good luck with it. This is probably not a solution but might be worth a try. Do an uninstall of the iFly 737 and then when you reinstall, right click and select "Install as administrator." I have no idea why, but this does make a significant difference in cockpit performance on the QW 757... Don't give up - it's definitely not an FS9 issue - the high FPS you're looking for will be there once you locate this problem and fix it
