May 20, 201214 yr Looking in SmartCockpit's PDF files, I see that, for visual approaches, I should activate APPR mode when abeam the runway. However, that mode ends up activating around 30 NM before the airport... too early for my liking. Is it there a way to delay (or bypass) the automatic activation of the approach mode, without having to leave managed speed mode? May 20, 201214 yr Luis. First I don't understand why In VFR flight mode you activate the APPR ( Automatic Approach) when this only works when you have logged an IFR flight in FS. Unless ther's something here I have gone amiss?...Are you using FMC?? 30 NM is too far for my linking as well even in VFR. REgarding the Speed Modes I don't have sufficient experince to advice. May 31, 201214 yr Luis, You can deviate a little on left or right from your computed track in order to avoid overflying DECEL point. This way you will be able to DECEL at will from DES page (FMC). Hope this helps, Vladimir
