May 24, 201214 yr Hello, Is there a way to change the interior night lighting in the cockpit of a given airplane to "nighteye red" (or just red), for easier out-of-the cockpit viewing during night flights? If so, how can I do it, and what would I need to do? Any helpful info would be appreciated. aputech
May 24, 201214 yr You'll need to open the *.dds-files which actually store the textures. Just Google "open dds files" for programs that can do that. I've tried that myself, but it turned out to be more work than I actually thought, because you need to edit the gauges' night textures as well, otherwise it looks bit strange. Regards Flo Florian
May 24, 201214 yr Hi Ken, wondered what happened to you. You were there and then you were gone. Glad to see you are still around but Dennis said you moved out of town. If ever back in SD give me a call. Norm O'h by the way the OE-LAT poster is right but it is doable. Norm
May 25, 201214 yr I managed to successfully change the lighting on an older a/c by just changing the 'lights' section of the aircraft.cfg file, replacing fx_vclight and fx_vclightwhi with fx_navred. I guess things are more tricky with newer a/c.
