  1. That is a tough choice, indeed. But, I'd go with MilViz, personally. I own a few of their airplanes, including the B-350i and I am not disappointed.
  2. I got FSX-SE as a gift from "Fisheye" back in January and I absolutely love it. My frame rates are faster than they are in FSX Gold/Acceleration and FSX-SE seems to be more robust. As of yet I haven't had any CTDs or freeze-ups, and my add-on aircraft, both payware and freeware perform flawlessly. I still run FSX Gold/Acceleration but I fly FSX-SE primarily for multiplayer activities, and rarely run it offline. There are a few good FSX-SE Steam sites out there to fly in that have adequate ATC and the online pilots using these sites seem to take things seriously enough for me to join their sessions. And then there are sites that are basically a free for all clusterfrak where pilots are all over the place, taking off from the wrong runways or strafing you during your take off roll. I don't visit those sites too often unless I'm departing with no intention of returning. If you want to host a session in FSX-SE it's very easy to do, and you can post your own codes of conduct to alert prospective pilots regarding what types of behavior are expected once they join your session. When I host a session I post my codes of conduct, the active runway(s), traffic pattern altitude(s) and suggested touring routes to fly when departing from my home airport which is either KSEE or KMYF. So far the most popular route has been the KMYF to KPSP, with the KMYF to KSBA running second. FSX-SE online is a hoot. FSX-SE offline is great. Seriously. APUtech

Also, I must commend you on your choices of music--too often I watch sim videos with Mute on because the accompanying music is...well...so darned "Mutable." Your music was a great fit, I think.   4. Well, I got my wire snips out and was about to "do the deed" when it occurred to me that I'd seen some narrow, 3" zip-ties on the patio. I got 3 of 'em and cinched up 2 springs in three places. Hot DOWG! With the exception of that squirrely (and no longer used) z-axis, my Cyborg-X feels like a new joystick! Man, it's smoooooth! No more jerky movements to compensate for the high spring tension, no more pushing forward and having the tail of the stick lift. Looks like I'm not getting any sleep tonight, folks--I'm gonna be flying, man! Sheez Louise, why didn't I do this sooner, duuuhhhhh...! Thanks for the suggestions, guys! :yahoo: APUtech

  6. Yeah, jcomm, the Cyborg X's spring tension is definitely a bother, especially when landing. I've taken mine apart before to fix the Z-axis (unsuccessfully) but couldn't figure out how to remove that darned spring. Rather than remove it, I'd like to try shortening it first with a trusty set of wire snips. What do I need to do to remove the spring? APUtech

  8. The only time I remember landing in a heavy with only a few degrees of flaps was at KSEA on the early 90s and we landed in a 28-knot headwind. Don't know if that applies to your situation, though. APUtech

  10. Hi, jcomm. I read about torquefix recently, and was wondering if its application was limited to Carenado airplanes. The post I'd read referred to Carenado airplanes needing torquefix to correct their roll problem. If I can in fact use it for my freeware airplanes it would help to end the mildly frustrating roll tendencies in most of my propjobs. APUtech

  12. For a light plane flight it's Cut Bank Muni (KCTB) Montana, to Lake County Airport (KLXV), Colorado, or Albuquerque (KABQ) to Telluride Reg. (KTEX), Colorado for a shorter hop. Both flights are made in a Cessna 310R or 310Q. The scenery is spectacular both in real life and in FSX. For heavy routes (I'll forgo the ICAOs) I like using the B-757 for my San Diego Int'l to Los Angeles Int'l to Kansas City, Mo.(fuel stop) to Chicago Midway to Logan Int'l. I choose that particular route because I'll always run into some decent IMC along the way, and get some good "heavy duty" IFR practice in. The 310 routes are also my favorite real-world flights.   14. Good day! I've been using an FSX C-310Q twin (Filename "C310Q.zip") for a few months and recently located a 2D C-310Q panel (Filename "FP_310Q.zip") that replaces the Beech Baron 2D panel it came with. I have been unable to replace the Baron 2D panel with the "new" one (it has no installation instructions, so I was "best-guessing" my way through). What do I need to do to get the "new" panel installed and functioning? Your help would be most appreciated, aputech
