Has anyone been able to get their Saitek equipment to properly work with DTG Flight School?
Just wanted to provide an update. I went through every single axis control and was able to get all the main controls (yoke, rudder, throttle, trim) working correctly. I found the DTG control menu to be a bit confusing - I had to spend some time to figure out how to get exactly what I wanted. I also couldn't immediately find the reverse controls options for the rudder brake, but was able to work that out as well. I can now confirm that the Saitek Pro Flight Cessna Yoke, Trim, Rudder Pedals, and Throttle work in DTGFS. I sincerely appreciate your feedback!

FSX Scenery question - ORBX
Hi all, I wanted to take advantage of some of the 4th of July flightsim sales this weekend to upgrade my scenery in FSX. I know there's a lot of content and other questions out there related to scenery in FSX - so I'll try to keep my questions as specific as possible. Just wanted to get some info before the weekend was up! 1. I currently use ORBX PNW and ORBX SAK with a handful of smaller ORBX airports within those regions. My general (and still limited) understanding of FSX scenery is that these ORBX regions can include upgraded mesh data. If that is true, would FSGenesis still be worth purchasing? I mostly fly general aviation in North America. 2. If I were to stay in the ORBX ecosystem - would FTX Global Base, FTX Global Vector, and FTX Global openLC cover mesh, textures, landclass, vector/area scenery upgrades? Would this be the correct order to install them in? Thank you very much for your time. If there are any general recommendations or feedback, I'd always appreciate that too. Again, many thanks!

Has anyone been able to get their Saitek equipment to properly work with DTG Flight School?
Hi all, Just wanted to see if anyone had been able to get their Saitek equipment to work with DTG Flight School? I launched the program this morning for the first time and discovered that my Saitek yoke and rudder pedals were detected. However, I was unable to change some of the joystick commands for things like brakes and elevator trim. Currently when I use my Saitek elevator trim, it rolls the entire aircraft left and right! When I try to change the elevator or brake actions in the Settings menu, it won't recognize me spinning the elevator trim wheel or pushing forward on the rudder pedals. Just wanted to see if other simmers were having this problem or if this was just something I may be doing wrong/overlooking. Any thoughts would be most appreciated! Thank you!

Does anyone make use of the Samsung Magician SSD software?
PC Pilot Dave replied to PC Pilot Dave's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcThanks for the reply rick66. I've been doing some reading on the different features offered within Samsung Magician. I had a few follow up questions (for you or anyone else who may weigh in): 1. Can I run over-provisioning on my drives with my OS and data already installed? 2. I have two Samsung SSD's but it appears I can only use RAPID mode on one. Should I use RAPID mode for my OS SSD or my FSX SSD? For the startup question - do you run as Administrator user or as a Standard user>

Does anyone make use of the Samsung Magician SSD software?
Hi all, Just had a quick question - I have two Samsung SSD 840 EVOs. One for my OS and one for my FSX install. The SSD comes with the Samsung Magician software that offers a range of features. I was just wondering if anyone took advantage of these features to optimize their SSDs? I'm looking at the Perfomance Optimization, OS Optimization, Over Provisioning, and RAPID mode features. I wouldn't be totally honest if I said I knew what all those features did. Just wanted to see what other flight-simmers/PC users have done. Also, on a related-note: every time I boot my PC and log in, I get a message basically saying Samsung Magician needs Admin rights in order to run and I should relaunch the application with admin rights. For security, I run as a standard user and have a separate Administrator profile when needed. Is there any way to keep Samsung Magician from running on startup? I've read from numerous places that it is not required to startup with Windows, however, it is not listed in the msconfig.exe Startup tab? Thank you for your help. As always, it is greatly appreciated!

Only one lever detected for Saitek throttle quadrant
Turns out I need to reprogram it through the Yoke controller type. My mistake!

Only one lever detected for Saitek throttle quadrant
Thank you Dave. Interestingly enough, when I reinstall the driver for the Saitek Throttle Quadrant, it asks me to plug int he controller I want to update - my Throttle Quadrant is plugged into my Saitek Pro Cessna Yoke already. Not sure what to make of that, especially since this all seemed to work correctly before I reinstalled FSX Steam on a new Windows installation.

Only one lever detected for Saitek throttle quadrant
Hi all, I recently purchased a Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant. It worked initially but after reinstalling FSX Steam, it only seems to detect the left-hand black lever (for the throttle). The other two levers are not detected while flying. In addition, the Throttle is not listed as a Controller Type in FSX Control settings, though my other Saitek products are. When I launch the Saitek programming software, it does detect all three levers. I would appreciate any assistance or thoughts you could offer. As always, thank you very much for your help!

Saitek Cessna ProFlight Yoke - reduce sensitivity of "tophat" switch?
Thanks for the replies guys. I apologize for my late response, I was away from FSX most of the week. I'll try the above solutions this week and report back! One additional question - I always seem to start flights very zoomed in, even though I have WideAspect set to true in the config files. Anyone else run into this (I may have posted this in an earlier thread many months back, but I don't think I found a solution that worked for me.)

Saitek Cessna ProFlight Yoke - reduce sensitivity of "tophat" switch?
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone might be able to offer up a bit of assistance. I use the Saitek Cessna ProFlight Yoke which works great, except that the "tophat" switch that's used to pan your view seems highly sensitive. When I'm in the cockpit, I feel I spend a lot of time trying to make tiny adjustments and if I apply just a tad too much pressure I'm veering much too far in the direction I'm trying to adjust. I haven't been able to find a setting anywhere in FSX to adjust the sensitivity of this switch. I was wondering if anyone else was running into this problem or knows of a way to reduce the sensitivity? As always, I very much appreciate the assistance.

Question regarding the FSX Learning Center
Hi all, I've been trying to use the FSX Learning Center to work on becoming a better pilot. I know bits and pieces when it comes to flying, but I really want to get a solid foundation. I've been using the Lessons tab to go through all the virtual flight training with Rod Machado. So far it's been pretty helpful but I've run into a small issue with Student Pilot Lesson 3. It seems that when I complete all of the requirements (climb, descend, descend with flaps, climb, and then descend in right and left turns) nothing happens. After I descend in my right and left turns back down to 3,000 feet it seems like the lesson should end, however nothing happens I just fly around on my own. Maybe Rod thought he'd have better odds of surviving by just opening the door and rolling out of the airplane? Just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this before I concern myself too much with it. As always, thank you very much!

Screen contrast with three monitors
PC Pilot Dave replied to PC Pilot Dave's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcThank you for all the feedback. I played around with the monitor settings. I think I've got all the settings matched across all three monitors. However, I do still notice a small contrast between my one HDMI monitor (middle) and my two DVI monitors (sides) at night. With everything else though, I can not determine any other differences.
