May 27, 201214 yr Hi. After cold/dark startup all cdu's are off, can't get them to work. Any help is appreciated. Regards Dalton Serkez
May 27, 201214 yr Did you turn up the du brightness knobs? They are below the PFD. Alex Jevdic --- KORD A<380-----Love at first flight
May 28, 201214 yr Author Yes, I did, and they are still off. The CDU's are OK when I power up the aircraft. Thank You.
May 28, 201214 yr Yes, I did, and they are still off. The CDU's are OK when I power up the aircraft. Thank You. Well they are supposed to be off when the aircraft is powered down and most displays won't work without AC power from either the engines, APU, or ground power. May 28, 201214 yr Author According to many tutorials, after cold and dark panel setup is selected and executed, everything is powered down but CDU, allowing me to set fuel, payload, etc... Thanks again, Alex.
May 28, 201214 yr I never used cold and dark but maybe ground power is already hooked up, try turning that on after establishing DC power from the battery and then you should be good to go in setting up fuel and payload. Alex Jevdic --- KORD A<380-----Love at first flight
May 28, 201214 yr Author Yeah, I guess I'll have to do it the way you said. Thank You very much for your help. Have a good night and nice flights. Dalton
May 28, 201214 yr When you start C&D, nothing is powered. However, if you wish to set fuel/payload/etc., you must HOLD down the "MENU" button. Then you will have access to these items. Cold & Dark is exactly what it means. Cold. Dark. No power, nothing is on. Ground power is NOT automatically connected. You must do this yourself, again from the "MENU" options. Otherwise, start up your APU because you're draining your battery. Dave Wegner - Don't be afraid of common sense or the search function.
May 28, 201214 yr You can also keep pushed MENU key on the CDU for 2 seconds in order to power the pmdg menus. For REAL functions you need to power the aircraft. Regards Andrea Daviero
