June 6, 201213 yr Well done, an excellent choice! The J41 isn't so difficult once you've got the basics sorted out and have familiarised yourself with the panels, and it will prepare you well for other complex aircraft. I'd also recommend downloading the file pmdgfpconv.zip which will convert FSX flight plans to PMDG's own format; this means that you can plan flights using FSX and follow FSX ATC, as well as using the J41's FMS to follow LNAV. This will give you ATC vectoring and own navigation, or the flexibility of following routes, SID's, & STAR's as you progress. You can always program the FMS by hand if the route is short. Don't forget that you can drag and drop the flight path line onto different waypoints, beacons, or intersections within the FSX flight planner, and once it's saved, the converter will still work perfectly. This might be a good stepping stone for better ATC software and/or VATSIM or IVAO. Good luck! June 6, 201213 yr You made the right choice. J41 is a clear winner in this category and as you found out, not a huge challenge to fly if you have good basic skills to start with!
