Sure I'll let you know,

The price one the FDS jet max MCP/EFIS is $1099CAD

http://www.jetmax.ca/store/cart

Isn't that the non pro version? Yes I've only heard good things about cp flight MCP (auto throttle switch also has a solenoid and can auto disconnect). The only issue is their EFIS is not to scale.

Sorry, mate. I misread that pricing. I thought it was another 1000 bucks dearer. In that case, 1099 is a good price for an MCP and an EFIS.

The CP Flight one (not full size? where does this crap come from?) fits right in the FDS MIP and is 499 euros for the MCP and 250 for the efis, so probably a coupla hundred cheaper than Jetmax.

I have the CP Flight MCP and twin EFIS's. They are really nice and great feel and quality. Easy to set up and accurate.

CP Flight make an EL model and a Pro, but to my knowledge, the knobs are the only difference between the two. The pro model is twice the price, tho.

And PM systems.....well, it's old news, mate. I think you'll find that Sim A and ProSim eat PM for breakfast.

You can run a full cockpit suite in ProSim on two PC's and probably 3 for Sim A.

I built four dedicated PC's to run Sim A and when I went over to ProSim, I didn't need the fourth PC, as it doesn't need a server PC to run the modules.

Both have their pro's and cons.

My friend, Iain Williams @ http://www.flaps2approach.com/ gives a great breakdown of both pieces of software. He also does testing on all manner of sim parts.

The cp flight EFIS is not to scale. The MCP fits fine.

If you read Ian's blog mentions the EFIS is not to scale and he had to fill it in. That subsequently made him give it a 8/10 rating.

This video also shows the EFIS "not to scale"

I have also been in touch with Peter Cos of FDS and he affirms the cpflight EFIS is not to scale.

I think there is some conflicting info out there.

Here's a pic, straight from the CP Flight web-site that specifically states : Full Scale replica

Here's a pic of the real thing, straight from a 737-800:

And here's a shot of my EFIS and MCP. Looks the same to me, but I could be wrong....

All I can say guys, is if you honestly think Sim A and ProSim can be used for serious cockpit building,

then it just shows that you know very very little about cockpit building.

Those 2 programs are only toys in comparison to PM. Total amateur stuff.

(they are both cheap and substandard clones of Project Magenta)

I was trying to work out why Iain would say that it wouldn't fit and now I understand why.

I bought the bracket assembly from CP Flight when I bought my MCP and twin efis's and they fitted nicely. So, obviously fitting the smaller CP Flight EFIS's is gonna leave a gap in the FDS glareshield.

Good pick up on that, mate.

Hi Frank -- does this mean the CP Flight MCP and EFIS Pro fit perfectly without a gap with the FDS / JETMAX MIP when you use the CPFlight brackets?

I also understand FDS sell their own brackets.

Again, mate, I can't tell you. I made my own glareshields.

I bought the Engravity glare shields and married up the FDS glare-wings to them, so mine are a mix of both.

Having said that, the engravity glarewings bolted straight up to the CP Flight bracket and everything fitted nicely with no gaps.

And just one last comment, the pics I posted were wrong.

The top pic is the Jetmax compared to the CP Flight- Pro version.

The middle pic is the CP Pro to the GoFlight.

The bottom pic is the FDS Pro-MX to CP Pro.

Knew I'd get it right eventually...

I'm wondering if you can mix and match components. Cp flight MCP (would hope to daisy chain the radio modules later on) with an FDS EFIS.

I don't think that would be an issue with Prosim737?
