September 30, 201213 yr I have no experience with that particular package but I do use all FDS stuff in the fixed base trainers that I have built and they are excellent. There are other companies out there doing similar stuff but beware, they are nowhere as good as the FDS stuff. It is very well designed/manufactured and looks and feels like the real thing. I will give their stuff 10 out of 10. Fred. Agreed 100% John C
October 1, 201213 yr The JetMax-737SKTQ package is a lot of money but for those that only have a spare bedroom to flight sim in, this sure looks really nice to have. I am wondering how it would interface with the NGX in VC mode and how would you get the PFD/ND data to show on the harware? I have been running a JetMax solution for about two (2) months. I'm exactly the type of customer that Peter Cos is targeting with a JetMax. I wanted a more immersive experience but didn't want to go with a full size build with the First Officer and Captain's flight deck positions. I am very pleased with the engineering and the integration. I run the entire unit on a single overclocked Ivy Bridge PC with four (4) monitors. Once the windows are undocked and placed on the PFD/ND displays, I save the flight and re-load the flight and Panel State each time I load my aircraft. My favorite component is the CDU which is truly exceptional. The MCP and EFIS are also quite good. FDS has native support for NGX in their CDU and GLARE software which controls the CDU integration and EFIS and MCP integration with NGX respectively. I keep my default view set to a forward view that scales with the size of the Main Instrument Panel. I use EZDok to pan around to the balance of the Cockpit. It's not quite realistic but it is surprisingly immersive. For the main instrument panel annunciators and switch integration, the InterfaceIT card and related software are impressive. They make integrating the unit very easy. I chose to integrate my JetMax using FSUIPC key press macros as I wanted the ability to understand how the JetMax was communicating with the NGX SDK. I have all functions working and it is quite impressive. The LED flap gauge is quite impressive. It uses LED lights to simulate the different needle indicator positions for the 737 flap settings. The engineering of the main unit is top-notch with all of the frame and panel components aligning perfectly. I am patiently awaiting my throttle quadrant so can't yet comment on that component but if it matches the quality of their exceptional CDU, it will be amazing. My bottom-line conclusion is that the JetMax allowed me to get into a more immersive experience at a much lower cost and higher quality for the dollar than previously possible. However, it is still a build and needs some skill and understanding of how to integrate the system with the FSX and PMDG NGX environment. The support from Flight Deck Solutions has been stellar. Hope this helps. The combination of the NGX and the JetMax are, for me, are a winner. ...Daddy Books aka Bob Booker Robert Booker

I wanted a more immersive experience but didn't want to go with a full size build with the First Officer and Captain's flight deck positions. Hey Daddy Books -- I had no idea the CDU was program for use with PMDG; I thought it would run on scripts, and we would have to run in window mode. Its great that you guys are all finding the CDU to be exceptional -- perhaps that will be my next purchase after the throttle. Did you have to purchase the LED flap gauge separately, or did that come with your Jetmax purchase? I will probably run the visuals on a projector screen with TrackIR setup for side to side panning. I've actually found a video with the EFIS fitting onto the FDS MIP -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ViCQwgZ3gw&feature=plcp (around the 2:20 mark); custom built or the one FDS manufactures? FDS builds an MCP + EFIS for the Jetmax but I believe the MCP is missing A/T disconnect (solenoid switch) and bank angle. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering

October 30, 201213 yr Post some pics sounds like a great setup The JetMax is still in my workshop and I have not yet received the Throttle Quadrant but here is an initial picture. Once I have the TQ installed and have moved it to it's final location, I'll post a better set of pictures. FL370 enroute to KATL. Robert Booker
October 30, 201213 yr Hey Daddybooks, looks setup nicely I'm still undecided between a full screen MIP and the Jetmax. Full screen MIP is slightly more expensive on the get go, but you have the opportunity to expand the full MIP later on if you wish. Jetmax, you're pretty much stuck with the package. The space savings is considerable though, and how often would you fly with a FO anyway? I'll have to expand my hardware first before making that decision -- waiting on the Jetmax throttle, then next will probably be the FMC/CDU, and then the MCP. This will probably be followed next by visuals -- 2 projectors, 180 degree viewing. Hopefully hardware options will expand by then and prices will have dropped. A sign this hobby is getting a little more popular, and we're not as crazy as we're made out to be? Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
