Current AIRAC Cycle Still Yields "NAV DATA OUT OF DATE"
Dave nailed it. The computer time is today but I was loading a saved flight which was created prior to the current date range. A light palm to my forehead  Thanks... ...Robert

Current AIRAC Cycle Still Yields "NAV DATA OUT OF DATE"
Hello All... I am running the NGX 800/900 on P3D 2.5. With my move to P3D, my Aerosoft NavDataPro subscription had expired and I licensed Navigraph FMS Data Manager. I have upgraded the AIRAC cycle to 1503 but still have a NAV DATA OUT OF DATE message on the FMC IDENT page. The cycle_info file in the NAVDATA folder shows the current AIRAC cycle data. I'm not sure if this is a Navigraph problem or something else. Any ideas? Thanks in advance... ...Robert

PMDG 737NG Cockpit Builders Edition
Mike... I have done this with JetMax which is the FDS SSTD. I have the full Captain side amd Lower Overhead. It works quite well. The trick would be moving to a full flightdeck given you would have to run 6 monitors plus main visuals. I keep thinking about running the DUs and primary on a single PC and the visuals on a second PC with WideView or a multichannel configuration. If you need any insights or interfaceIT XML files, drop me a PM. I am happy to try to help Another PMDG + FDS driver. ...Robert

JetMax and PMDG
I too can say nothing but great things about Peter Cos and FDS / JetMax. Another organization with great integrity akin to PMDG. I have the full JetMax with a PMDG setup including the CDU, MCP / EFIS, TQ, Overhead, NavComm and Transponder. The GLARE is required for the MCP / EFIS but everything else in my setup is interfaced with direct FSX controls. It takes a beefy computer to run the NGX and four (4) separate monitors with undocked windows. I just made the leap to P3D and a dual graphics setup (SLI) and am delighted with the preliminary results. It does take quite a bit of configuring as the NGX is not really a cockpit builders product but the fidelity of the two solutions together is really impressive once all configured. I am happy to share my XML files with any JetMax drivers who want to short-circuit the process. ...Robert And I just realized this was an old post 《red-faced》. Ah well...hopefully it helps someone.

Jetmax CDU with 737NGX
Hi Vernon... I have the JetMax CDU and the entire setup including overhead. It all works well. To set-up, you need to: 1. Install the CDU software from the TEKwork.CA website. 2. Install the PMDG module from JetMax / FDS And configure for the CAPTAIN side. 3, Configure the GUAGE00 line in the panel.cfg for the respective 737NGX variant(s) you are flying (800, 900, etc.) To reduce the 2D panel to the display window only. As I recall, thre was only one change for me as sub-types such as 800WL alias the core model panel.cfg. The CDU software must be running prior to loading the 737NGX and will power up once the supported aircraft is loaded in FSX (P3D). You can then undock the 2D window for the CDU and drag / resize to the CDU monitor. It is tricky to setup but I love mine. It is a solid bit of kit. If you are having specific challenges, let me know and I will try to help. ...Robert

737NGX De-Registration Operations Error
Hi All... I am in the process of moving to a new simulator PC. I received an operations error after I requested the license de-registration from the CDU. I had already upgraded my GPU and removed an extra hard drive from the PC prior to attempting de-registration but made sure to attempt de-registration prior to wiping the PC while still on the same motherboard / processor as well as my Windows instance. Is this amount of hardware change enough to prevent successful de-registration? I would like to properly complete de-registration and recover my activation. If appropriate, I can open a ticket and provide the generated incident number. Thanks in advance... ...Robert

multiple monitor issues and questions
The CTD when moving content onto a fifth (5) display is a limitation of FSX which I have not seen widely documented. There is a workaround but it's far from satisfying and requires operation in windowed mode to display content on monitors 5+: Prior to loading FSX, remove displays from Extended Desktop until only four (4) displays are active. This is done in Windows 7 by right clicking the desktop, selecting Screen resolution, clicking on each monitor to be disabled, and then selecting "disable" from the Multiple displays drop down pick list. Start FSX and load an aircraft and make sure you are running in Windowed (as opposed to Full Screen) mode. I use the default ultralight at Friday Harbor flight. End that flight and return to the FSX flight load window. Minimize FSX and add the previously removed displays -- select "Extend" from the drop down pick list. Return to FSX and either load the desired NGX aircraft or load a saved flight. I run a hardware flight deck and have saved flights with the required window placements. I just load that flight once I complete the loading machinations. I prefer to fly in Full Screen mode and the windows on monitors 5+ are not displayed in Full Screen mode. My fifth monitor is my Lower EICAS and I therefore startup the aircraft in Windowed mode and switch to Full Screen when I'm ready to Taxi. I have plans in the future to remove borders (using AutoHotKey) and create a start-up macro that does all of this for me systematically. For now, it's a few more minutes prior to flight to get everything properly configured. Hope this helps... ...DaddyBooks Robert Booker

PMDG Best Hardware to Acquire
I have the FDS JetMax and recently provided a very short summary of my impressions at http://forum.avsim.n...25#entry2506201. I just added a picture to that thread of the JetMax with the NGX. I have not yet configured my Steering Tiller or the Throttle Quadrant. I can't offer a comparison to the other solutions. I went with this solution based upon my absolute requirement for a solution that would run PMDG NGX and Flight Deck Solutions reputation. The CDU, EFIS and MCP all interface directly with the NGX API using software provided by Flight Deck Solutions. The switches and annunciators interface using a InterfaceIT card which is the same hardware and software that Flight Deck Solutions use for their full simulator setups. It allowed me to interface directly to FSUIPC as well as read and write from the NGX API where required. All components and the main instrument panel are scale and the CDU is the same full-color unit used for FDS full simulator setups. I run on a single PC with four displays. As I did my research, I learned that JetMax is positioned as a solution for people who are looking for a single seat setup. Peter Cos told me that the solution is designed to provide all of the essentials for a great flying experience. As such, it doesn't offer overheads which are quite expensive given all of the annunciators and controller requirements. ...DaddyBooks aka Bob Booker

Anyone using this hardware?
I have been running a JetMax solution for about two (2) months. I'm exactly the type of customer that Peter Cos is targeting with a JetMax. I wanted a more immersive experience but didn't want to go with a full size build with the First Officer and Captain's flight deck positions. I am very pleased with the engineering and the integration. I run the entire unit on a single overclocked Ivy Bridge PC with four (4) monitors. Once the windows are undocked and placed on the PFD/ND displays, I save the flight and re-load the flight and Panel State each time I load my aircraft. My favorite component is the CDU which is truly exceptional. The MCP and EFIS are also quite good. FDS has native support for NGX in their CDU and GLARE software which controls the CDU integration and EFIS and MCP integration with NGX respectively. I keep my default view set to a forward view that scales with the size of the Main Instrument Panel. I use EZDok to pan around to the balance of the Cockpit. It's not quite realistic but it is surprisingly immersive. For the main instrument panel annunciators and switch integration, the InterfaceIT card and related software are impressive. They make integrating the unit very easy. I chose to integrate my JetMax using FSUIPC key press macros as I wanted the ability to understand how the JetMax was communicating with the NGX SDK. I have all functions working and it is quite impressive. The LED flap gauge is quite impressive. It uses LED lights to simulate the different needle indicator positions for the 737 flap settings. The engineering of the main unit is top-notch with all of the frame and panel components aligning perfectly. I am patiently awaiting my throttle quadrant so can't yet comment on that component but if it matches the quality of their exceptional CDU, it will be amazing. My bottom-line conclusion is that the JetMax allowed me to get into a more immersive experience at a much lower cost and higher quality for the dollar than previously possible. However, it is still a build and needs some skill and understanding of how to integrate the system with the FSX and PMDG NGX environment. The support from Flight Deck Solutions has been stellar. Hope this helps. The combination of the NGX and the JetMax are, for me, are a winner. ...Daddy Books aka Bob Booker
