ASE updates weather to often it seem to me

Featured Replies

I have configured ASE to update weather every 30 min. But I surely get messages about updated weather station more often than that. This apply both to flying and while being on ground.

I have the same problem... you wrote yesterday and still no answer ?

I even have suppress on ground an below 10.000, but it does not seem to care about that it will still update around every 7-10min

Sim is smooth as silk even with payware aircraft, as soon as ASE updates all hell brakes loose for 10-15 sec.

And its so frustrating when on final and you take over manualy.

Maybe we should try with Force high priority processes off, maybe the download is seen as high priority process.

Please write how it goes if someone tests this.

It's a BUG. The suppression options don't work properly. Many people complain about these stutters.

I don't mind the stutters flying, but rolling down the runway is a MAJOR nuisance. I think ground suppression is very flawed.

Yes we know it's simconnect, and standard mode,... BUT the suppression options serve no purpose then.

Pity...

And please don't tell me suppression only works for updates, IT SHOULD work for ALL writes. I don't care about updates, I care about the Stutters.

Those are the problem.

Please make suppression work on the ground for real. I understand if it did work completely on the ground, maybe we would get no weather at all, but what about permitting the writes with the aircraft having the parking brakes on, only. After all, if we are rolling, it won't take long before applying parking brakes or taking off...

just an idea.

I have another program just like ase but it the same. how hard can it be altimeter under 10.000 no weather download or update. It should finish its first process just when you start @ gate or active runway and after that it should not be doing anything untill 10.000 as I set it for the same I expect for landing that is the most anoyng.

Tried that and it took about 20 minutes before the weather was updated. But I had choosen 30 minutes. On the other hand my impression is that it was shorter than 20 minutes before.

I also tested with dx9 and a bit lower graphics on the fsx world they are on high instead of ultra and the aircraft is the only one set to ultra, nor ASE wont update as much and also REX essentials is running quite smooth, I also put UT2 to keep 20 frames as the FSX limiter and I got a smoother ride, but surely it can be improved, sadly the DX10 function in only preview in fsx.

If we want all sliders to max on fsx + addons and dx10 preview, probably we will have to wait until there will be CPUs running @ 6Ghz as default.

To get this smooth I reinstalled everything fsx + addons and left it att its original setting...

Also seems like same settings more download when dx10 than under dx9
