I am only seeing a skeletal version of the the flight instruments

Featured Replies

Why I am I only seeing a skeletal version of the the flight instruments on the captain side and no instruments at all on the co pilot side as I complete the start up check lists with fs2crew. When it starts in default the instruments are fine.

This is the panel state just before engine start ) excuse the twin screen)

the copilot screens are the same panel.png

Im using fs2crew and have posted there for support but re routed to here. see message below

""For the flight instruments, please contact PMDG support.

You're probably missing a tweak in your FSX CFG, like the himem fix.

Cheers,""

I have done everything via the tutorial for start up but every time I disconnect the ground power the auto pilot and co pilot instruments turn off.

So im sitting at klax fully loaded and ready to go but no AP

If FO instruments turn off when gpu is disconnected it means that aircraft is unpowered by an AC source, you have only stby power to supply cpt instruments.

The 737 has no automatic power switching, so when you start engines or APU you need to put those generators online. This is done with GEN bUS switches on the overhead, 2 for the APU, 1 for each engine. A dim/bright light will tell you the generator condition, the AC/DC meter will tell you if power from generators are avaiable.

So, if switching generators will not give power, please tell us the ACmeter reading for engines and APU gen, probably there is something wrong.

the only not procedure related solution will be to check another panel state as the one you're using could be damaged.

Thanks for your reply. I switched back to D fault to get the flight going but will defiantly restart as soon I reach destination and check the Genbus

great thanks, I was able to switch from APU showing 0 amps over to gen 2

That did the trick. Is this normal procedure or is there something no right here.

If a generator is not connected but is avaiable will give you only 115V and 400Hz, no amps drain. As soon as the generator is connected and is supplying power you will see amps.

The meter selection is only for monitoring.

The main bus switches are just below the ground power switch and they are always manual, it is an old logic, no automatic functions will connect a generator when aircraft is on ground, you need always to switch a generator online after you started an engine or the APU or when you connect GPU.

It is how it works.

A little missing thing in the NGX is present, it affects the reading when you force a generator to OFF. Forcing a gen to off must remove the generator excitation magnetic field resulting in a 0V 0Hz on the meters.

This is the only wrong thing but is not related in any fault here, is something that only few people is able to find.

Make sure to connect the generator when you start the engine, make sure there is an amp. drain from it, if you want to shut down the APU, make sure that both GEN1 and GEN2 are with amp drain and the APU must read 0Amps. You will be able then to safely shut down the APU without power loss.
