When its good.......

Featured Replies

Its good.

I have been somewhat down on some of Flights graphics recently, mostly because other parts of Flight show that the team is more than capable of doing better. Most of the things I dislike have to do with the depiction of cities, and stem from the use of legacy FSX tiles.

I hate those things. To me, its like slathering a new house with mud; but putting that aside, and away from those ugly tiles, its whats in these pictures that continues to hold me, and why even with what I believe are preventable failings, I still see so much promise and potential. Away from the cost-cutting and corner cutting, there is a very stunning game in there.

With Alaska approaching, I am really hoping for flight to favor its better nature.

That's exactly the reason that I have become a bush flyer in FSX: I couldn't stand the look of those cities with those obvious cutt off tiles (specially where rural touches urban), so I simply avoided those places. (This was also by far my biggest disappointment with Flight: that they didn't find a way to fix this!) And that's also why I am happy with the upcoming Alaska: lots of nature with only a few cities.

On the other hand: only flying above mountains and forrests makes you feel a bit lonely...

I just posted a whole whack of images over in the screenshot forum, the post is called "various from flight"

maybe check'em out when you get a chance!

Nice! I had forgotten the forum was even there, so after looking at yours and seeing few others (none actually) I added some too. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/376801-microsoft-flight-pastel-panoramas/

Famous place

There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.

Sure there is way to fix it, but probably that would have needed a lot of work so I guess they didn't bother. Certainly it would have been possible to take a lot more out of Flight engine if we look what some addon developers have managed to do with FSX.
