fs passengers problem

Featured Replies

Hi folks, depsite trying to get help from fspx forums, not much is coming from there.

Fsx is always crashing from either using the fsx drop down or right clicking for changing views, this has been going on for months, windows xp32, ive even tried the dll fix for vista to no avail, but ive been advised to use the fsx registry utility, but no instructions actually come with it, hopefully someone out there would have used it and could help.

I have reinstalled fsx about 10 times, and fspx is installed only and well before utx/pmdg etc

i could post a screenie if it helps, but as i get little response from fsp forum, im now seeking out other options.

regards

You have a UIAutomationCore.dll. problem. Follow instructions below.

Occasionally FSX will call some routine from within that .dll, and if it's the Windows 7 version, sooner or later FSX will freeze - not necessarily a black screen, but unmoving and with the sound just continuing.

It's usually fixed by the placing of version 6.0.5840.16386 of the dll in the FSX root folder... what you might not know is that if you have removed the original dll there may well be other programs, newer, maybe other games, PhotoShop, Itunes, whatever - on your pc that may need routines that are contained in the Windows 7 version of that dll - and they will also hang - maybe crash if it/they can't find the needed library file. Just for peace of mind, if you haven't already fixed it - it is here, if you want to download and rename it, and then stick it back into it's original location. It won't affect FSX, providing you have the older version in FSX's root folder, and the other apps that need it will now be happy.

This solved the exact same problem for me

  • Hi toedv, ive tried the dll file, but still to o avail, in fact it was one of the first thins i tried, normally when i uninstall things i use ccleaner, but the last 5 or so times, ive done the regedit bsiness and deleted everthing i could, im both parts of regedit, then ccleaned again so no registry keys were there, but yh still no joy,
  • Im sorry for posting here, but until ecently fsp forums are not that forthcoming with support.

  • (i shall try the ddl file again, and report bk

EDIT DLL file

EDT AGAIN, ive noticed the 2 dll files i have are different versions, you listed 6.05840.16386 and the one i have downloaded from your link is *************18000?

I believe the 16386 is the correct one, but try the 18000 as well. Make sure you put it in your fsx root.

It's strange, but I had exactly your problems, especially with fspassenger. The new DLL fixed the problem 100% and I haven't had one single crash in over 3 months.

I assume you have .NET Frameworks 2.0, 3.0. 3.5 and 4.0 installed correctly?

hey, yh im sure they are installed correctly,

just to clarify again, my root dir is c/program files/microsoft games/fsx, and its going in the fsx folder? as that is what ive been doing.

Ok so if this 18000 doesnt work can i just google the other version by copying n pasting"6.0.5840.16386" into a search?

sorry for my noobness.

It's here, FNoob:-

https://dl.dropbox.c...in_fsx_root.dll

Just rename it and stick it in FSX's root folder. The correct version is 6.0.5840.16386.

Edit:

I just read your top post... You're running XP 32-bit. The UIAutomationCore.dll only applies to Windows 7 OS's.

I think that many crashes are attributed to FSPassengers - I certainly had my share, and now no longer use it.

When that error reporting window pops up, click on the little link that says view the contents of the error report.

Browse thru it slowly, Quite a few times if your lucky you can actually see what is causing you to crash. I know 99% of it looks like jibberish but once in awhile you can actually find a place to start looking for the problem. A couple of times I had bad AI aircraft that was causing me problems which was listed in the error report. Wound up there was a typo in the AI aircraft.cfgs that had to be corrected.

Yeah if you get those crashes only when you are using Fspax then its likely related to it.

Fspassengers support is indeed horrible nowadays, its developer is not working on it anymore and in support forum there is just one moderator who keeps telling people to use search function or bans them if they criticize something. Also its many compatibility problems are not mentioned in product page.

Shouldn't be sold as payware anymore I think. Anyway thankfully probably that new addon being developed by makers of REX if I understood right will probably completely replace FSpassengers for me.

I would put money on it being solely an fsp problem, yet strangely, my mate (who has actually torrented it) doesnt have any problems whatsoever, yet us, legit folk, who believe in paying for developers time etc get nowt in return.

Please dont get me wrong -- i do not condone pirating at all, but i think i get why some people do do it!!

Well hopefully i will get my refund that flightsim store have promised me(yes they said they would refund me but sent me to dan for the refund) to which is now not happenening due to dan replying with saying it is a completely different problem, he has linked me to an unlock problem,

http://www.fspassengers.com/?action=faq&ver=fsx&question=28

can anyone enlighten me on how to properly use this piece of software? as it appears when you click it for the help it gives me broken links!.

kindest regards once again.
