..any idea for upgrading my old faithful Saitek, yoke. I'm willing to some reasonable investment in something that will get me a bit closer to the R/W

Cheers

PFC kicks....I got the Saab Column yoke & rudder pedals and haven't looked back. The 737NG yoke that they have is almost identical to the Saab yoke outside of the big difference in price. The operation is basically the same except for the logo and autopilot disconnect etc. Other than that, they have the same internals at a much lower cost.

So what you're saying is that you have to pay 300 dollars more for just a Boeing logo and an additional button?

I've been pondering about buying a PFC set for years already, but the overall cost is still keeping me from it.

That's essentially correct. I paid approx. $795 for the Saab (column yoke) in January of 2011. It was a 'special' that they were offering at the time. Look for 'Specials' on their website. They still might have it for that price. You could also purchase their 'desktop yoke' which is mounted to your existing desk rather than the column style which I have. I believe it is a couple hundred less than the column yoke. Either way, when you spend a thousand or more on a computer and monitor setup every 2 to 3 years as opposed to $130 for a plastic yoke, it makes a little more sense to buy a premium yoke and have it for a life-time. I put up with the Saitek and the CH products for way too long. The joys of the PFC brand have made quite a difference for me.

So get the desk version. There are also smaller ones than Saab, better for GA. Btw. see my review in the sig.
