June 21, 201213 yr Hey all, I want to learn how to take the ngx from cold and dark to fully "alive" and ready to go. Are there any recommended videos which I can play in HD on my laptop which I can just pause and follow? I thought the Angle of Attack guys would have covered this by now but I don't believe they have! Many thanks.
June 21, 201213 yr Not a movie but if you invest into FS2CREW, read the documentation, and possibly use some excellent community-made checklists that go with it, you'll learn an awful lot about real procedures and how a 2-man crew (you as the captain and your copilot) bring it fully alive from cold and dark. I'm subscribed to the AOA 737 training section, but as you said, I'm also still waiting on videos about this. I hope they bring it out pretty soon cause honestly I'm a little disappointed right now with their videos. IMO they focus too much on very technical aspects of the plane. This is great but it's not something as a beginner you want to learn. As a beginner you want to first learn about the correct procedures in operating it, on the ground and in flight... Mathieu Souphy
June 21, 201213 yr Hi Tjeuten, Thanks for your reply - I actually already own FS2Crew! Is there a flow list you could recommend? There is so much documentation that I am a little lost! My main issue is actually knowing where the switches are! I'm not home at the moment but I will review the FS2Crew manual in more detail - I didn't know it explained how to to start up the jet with a first officer. Thanks!
June 21, 201213 yr I have made a video of how to start the 737 NGX with Fs2Crew Voice edition. Take a look http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=s4j0RsiWCJk Kind regards Peter
June 21, 201213 yr Hi! Search youtube for skysurfer007. That guy made really good vids. Some videos are in german, but his latest videos are in english. _____________________________ Peter Burghardt (LOWW)
June 21, 201213 yr Also the second tutorial that came with the last update (1c) is really clear on the startup from cold & dark. Even if you choose not to fly the flight, you can still run through the startup procedure that is there. Sander Rutte

Sure, I'm using the checklist and flows from the second post of this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/368639-post-links-to-your-user-created-files-here/ They are excellent and very clear. I suggest you print them out and keep them next to you when setting up a flight. After a while you'll get to know them by heart. I especially like them because they tend to only list the things you have to say or do as a captain, while the FO is minding his own business. If you want complete lists of also the FO's action, as said they are listed in the FS2CREW manual, or you will probably find some other files in that forementioned thread. Hope it helps. If you want to get a better handle on what YOU should be doing, and what the FO is actually doing during the flows and checklists, have a look at this post and accompanying download: Improved Docs: Capt/FO Flows - Side x Side So, ever wonder what the FO was up to, as you were completing your own flow? You could flip back and forth in the docs, but that is awkward. I have pulled the information out and laid it out side by side. Document can be printed out in a booklet, each facing page will show the relevant information in sequence, and is co-ordinated with the other officer's sequence on the other side. Fully searchable PDF. It is quite clever, if I do say so myself. * Orest Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com
