Hi Scott,

The MSVCR80.dll is part of the MS Visual Redistributable package. As you know MSV's are used by the developers to install their software properly. The package should have looked to see if the proper MSV package is installed and, if not, install it before installing the program. I would remove Ultimate Traffic and make sure no remnants of it are left in the directories (open Windows Explorer and search for Ultimate). If any items show up, check them and make sure they are with the Ultimate Traffic program then delete them. Also make sure all temporary files are removed from UserName/AppData/Local/Temp. All files left in this directory can be safely deleted. Then run a registry cleaner. Since you formatted your harddrive, make sure you have Microsoft Visuals 2005, 2008, and 2010 installed. Remember, there's a Change One to the 2005 MSV that couldn't be included with Acceleration - http://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/KB961894/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2067.

Best regards,

Okay, I think I see the problem(s)...

You have the latest version of dotnet; however, you still need versons 1 through 4. FTX/Orbx requires 3.5 and they have that download on their site but you should be able to find all the versions on the dotnet site. Dotnet versions are not backward compatible. Addons and FSX/Acceleration were developed with certain versions and an application will be looking for it. Normally, when you install FSX, Acceleration, or any other addon, the software program will install the appropriate version. Here's the link to the dotnet packages - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa569263.aspx. Note that all the links to the other versions are located on the right side of the site. Don't worry about any of the versions overwriting your Version 4 (that came with Windows 7). A separate directory will be made for each version.

You have MSV's 2005 installed but not 2008 or 2010. I see 64 bit versions but those were not made for FSX or FSX addons as FSX is a 32 bit program. You need all the 32 bit versions. Again, MSV's are not backward compatible. You need them all as FSX is an old program. Download them all at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3387. (Note down at the bottom of the page is the list for all of the rest). Once they are all installed, including your dotnet versions, run Windows update to get the latest updates for these programs. Do not uninstall any of the 64 bit versions. My Windows 7 installation shows I have both the 64 and 32 bit versions. A software program you installed may require the 64 bit version.

There's a SP3 to MSXML 4.0 Parser dated 10/21/2011, version 4.30.2107.0. Don't think you really need this update but it never hurts. Here's the link - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7434. Here's more info about that Service Pack - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/973685.

I hope this helps!

Best regards,

Jim

Hi Scott,

You still need the 2010 MSV Redistributable for 32 bit programs - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

Here's the link to the dotnet 3.5 framework - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/cc378097. If it won't install, perhaps it's already installed or, more likely, you need to install Version 2 first. Open up Windows Explorer and go to C:\Windows\Microsoft.net\ and you should see separated directories for each version starting with Version 1.1.

You need Version 2 of Microsoft.net too - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa731542. This must be installed before Microsoft 3.5. You want the x86 version.

Version 4 of dotnet came with Windows 7. Once you have Versions 1, 2, 3, and 4 installed of dotnet, run the Windows update program and let it do its thing. Then, try to install Ultimate Traffic again.

Best regards,

Jim

Don't worry about the MSXML Parser application. You have all you need for that application. Just get all versions of dotnet and

Okay. Follow the instructions in the Article 976982 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976982. You need to download and install that Fix It then follow the instructions. Somehow your installation got corrupted. Hopefully that MS article will fix all your problems. Just make sure you don't uninstall .net framework 4 and do a repair as they state. Evidently a lot of people are having this problem otherwise they wouldn't be issuing a solution like this with a Fix It tool.

Best regards,

Jim

Hi Scott,

You're still missing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable. After installing that I would try reinstalling Ultimate Traffic 2. The Microsoft Visuals are the most important thing you need to install as your original error was caused by one of the Microsoft Visual dynamic library (dll). So hopefully you will have the right Ms Visual that Ultimate Traffic was looking for. Hope it works! I'm off to th golf course....

Event ID 6008 indicates possible overheating - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/unexpected-shutdown-event-id6008/0790ff7c-76cd-4bfe-8202-a3d0c08c49ea. It could also mean an outdated driver. I use Driver Performer software to periodically check for updated drivers. You can download the program and use it for free and it will tell you what drivers are out of date. They will automatically download and install the drivers if you pay them but at least it will show you all of your outdated drivers that could be causing this problem. Here's the link - http://performersoft.com/dr.php.

I wouldn't reformat your harddrive yet. I think this is more a hardware problem with maybe bad drivers or your system is overheating.

Click on the Start button and select Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Locate Security Accounts Manager in the list. Check that it has started and that the StartUp type is Automatic. If it is not set to Automatic right click and select Properties, General tab. There is a box after StartUp type. The options are available on a drop down by clicking on the arrow down to the right of the box. Make the change and click on Apply and OK. Restart the computer and check whether it has started.

NTDL.dll error - the info you provided indicates the error was caused because Windows cannot unload your registry file. You need to completely shutdown your system and restart.

The LogonUI.exe is the program that displays when you change Users or when you first logon. Is someone else using your computer? Another user who logs on/off?

You might want to get a Registry cleaner and run it. Like CCleaner or the one I like is Advanced SystemCare.

Check Dell for any updated drivers and install any that requires updating for your system. Those 'bad' drivers you found do not look serious to me. If there are none, then all is okay.

It's hard for me to determine whether your system is overheating....

My i7 2600K is 102 degrees F

My Asus MB is 83 degrees F

And my GTX 580 video card (the same as yours) is running much hotter than yours at 150 degrees F.

This whole problem could be just as simple as cleaning up your registry. If none of the above suggestions work, then it sounds like you should reformat and reinstall Windows and FSX (ugh!!). Just turn off any anti-virus program (well that won't be there until you finish installing Windows and then you install the Anti-virus). Keep it off installing FSX. I'm not a fan of anti-virus programs but know many feel safer with one installed. Good luck!

Best regards,

Jim
