July 4, 201213 yr I belong to a motorcycle forum where each summer we have a game called Motorcycle Tag. Someone rides to a recognizable location, takes a picture of their bike there, then posts it to the forum. The first person to find the location and post a picture with their bike in the same location gets some points and has to then post the next picture taken in a new location. It's really a lot of fun and a great way to get out riding and exploring. While we wait for Alaskan Aerocaches, I thought it could be fun to do our own "Plane Tag". Due to the size of Alaska, and the fact that most of it is trees and mountains and every airstrip looks the same, some navigation hints can be used to help locate the tag. Here's mine to start. Big Lake 112.5 DME: 36nm Talkeetna 116.2 DME: 33nm That should be enough to find it, I'll give the radials if no one is successful within 12 hours.
July 4, 201213 yr I'm prob wrong, been awhile since I've flown there. Willow or Skwentna my guess. Brian Thibodeaux | B747-400/8, C-130 Flight Engineer, CFI, Type Rated: BE190, DC-9 (MD-80), B747-400 My Liveries

July 4, 201213 yr Author They're on your shot ;-) I'll try it tonight :-) Great idea!!! Haha... oops. Shhh. don't tell anyone. The first shot I took was external and on the ground, but I accidently deleted it, so I quickly took another without thinking.
July 4, 201213 yr Not Skwentna, I don't think; was there last night..It's next to a lake..I think this is a great idea while we wait for Aerocaches and more challenges/missions (if they ever come..) JAKE EYREIt's a small step from the sublime to the ridiculous...Napoleon Bonaparte
July 4, 201213 yr Author Dont forget, you need to post a shot of your plane at the same location (it can be on the ground) and also post a shot of a new location.
