Just read the latest Boeing quarterly delivery report and noted that Boeing has already 200 orders for the MAX.

any ideas what the improvements on the NGX are?

The -ER and military versions of the NG will be released after the 777-200LR (and maybe the 777-300ER). So I won't expect those to be out until 2013.

The MAX is nothing but a paper airplane right now. PMDG said they aren't doing it. Perhaps they will when the MAX enters service in the next few years. I think the service entry date is expected to be 2015. However, this date could change if they have the same delays that they had with the 748 and 787.

nope Boeing said they were going to configure it in 2013, design it in 2014, build it in 2015, fly it in 2016 then it will be delivered to airlines in 2017. Got it from a video on Boeing's youtube channel you should check it out, and there are also many other cool videos about their airplanes. and history.

I think the point to the OP's post was what is the difference between the current NG and the MAX, not what PMDG will do

SO to answer the question as best I can,

New engines, new avionics and thats about all I know

Virgin Australia just announced orders for the MAX for delivery in 2019-2021.

I'm hoping we see a succession for FSX engine by then, let alone PMDG doing this add on :-)

Cheers

That doesn't answer OP's question at all...
